Epson C40 printer

Yes, I know I'm not normally around over a weekend but this is an
'emergency'. Well, Notwosun says it is.

He has been given an Epson C40 printer which has been serviced by a
qualified Epson bod. Unfortunately he wasn't given the installation
CD or a USB cable. He's bought a USB cable and I've downloaded the
latest drivers from Epson UK but Win XP refuses to see them.
I've also downloaded the manuals.

So, two/three questions really

1. Where can I/we get an installation CD?

2. Has the Epson supplied USB cable got an inline *thingumybob* and

*thingumybob* = resistor or summat.

Eh dunnow but if it makes any difference I used the C40 USB cable for my new
printer and it just looks like an ordinary cable. I'm jbexing on the
presumption that I would see a thingumybob. If I wouldn't I'm back to
dunnow.

You would see a *thingumybob* just before one of the connectors. I
asked because both my scanner and Quickcam have one.
