Years ago when I was in my teens, I watched a film
called "Blue Lagoon".
I can remember parts of it and I can remember that
I really enjoyed watching it and would love to see it again.
Sadly, all my attempts to find it on video have failed and I
can't find any reference to it on the web.
Can anyone remember the film and does anyone know
where I might find a copy ??

Which version are you interested in ?
As far as I know there are two versions, the original was made in 1949 and
starred Jean Simmons and Donald Houston. There was a 1980 re-make of the
film, produced and directed by Randal Kleiser, starring Brooke Shields and
Christopher Atkins.

I am more interested in the original version, I can remember seeing
the remake of the film but it wasn't anywhere as good as the first.

IMDB is your friend .There are 3 versions of the film, the original
black and white silent is here:
although there isn't much information on that version apart from the
main cast members etc.
Ferret around the site for information on the other versions.
A quick web-search will source dvd's of all but the original 1923 version,
which may be available on a p2p service somewhere.

Mind you Brooke Shields is rather nice, although many of her scenes were
shot with a stand in as she was too young to be filmed in the altogether!
(or is that all together).
