May...
Nearly two weeks ago cut a V-shaped chunk near index finger joint, (by
accident-ofcourse!) with big kitchen scissors. Took ages to stop bleed,
plaster on- day after day it bled- very sore. Nasty sight, too. Kept opening
up. Two days ago put some honey on it , tiny square of cotton fabric, bound
it up with Microporous Tape... Looked at it this a.m. and its knitting
beautifully and not sore. Honey is wonderful.
So it really does work...

BunnyHare...
It does seem to be good stuff Marg.
Last year when mum had that nasty sore on her leg (ulcer?) and the
nurses were coming in every other day and putting all sorts of different
creams and lotions on it just wasn't getting any better.
Then there was a Bank Holiday so nurses wouldn't be coming for three or
four days so left yet another different cream for her to use. Mum
decided the creams weren't doing any good so putting honey on probably
wouldn't do any more harm than the creams were. Must admit when she
told me what she had done I did wonder but by the time the nurses called
again it was healing nicely and they said just to carry on with the
cream and only call them again if it didn't continue to respond. She
never told them she hadn't used the cream

That certainly sounds good Barb, I will have to tell my son-in-law, he had
ulcerated legs
and they have never really cleared-up. Had all sorts of treatments then they
discovered he was allergic to the dressings they were putting on.Had to
retire early because of the problem. It all started from when he had a fall
and knocked his shins.!!

noreen...
You never know Jackie do you ;-))))

BunnyHare...
Well I can't say whether he should or should not use it, can only say
what happened with Mum

Jackie...
My daughter believes in natural remedies so she may get him to try it out,
shouldn't cause any harm I would think.
I did read somewhere about it and it said it should be `organic` pure honey.

Parrotfish...
'Manuka' Honey is best. You can get it in different strengths.
Can be used on Toast..... and on Skin :o)

Jackie...
Thanks PF, I will tell my daughter about it.
Its her birthday today, 52 years!!!

Parrotfish...
Hey....... Happy Birthday to Her !
Do you ever wonder how you came to have a child that old.......... Lol

Jackie...
I certainly do, and when I think that 12 grandchildren and four great grands
all started with the two of us!!!

Anita...
It is not made that public, but apparently anyone with leg ulcers can
now be prescribed magnet bands to wear by the NHS. They have been proved
to clear up ulcers and stop them reoccurring. Our doctor prescribes them
for patients now and those that have had ulcers for sometime but have
never really had them completely clear are responding well to the magnet
therapy.

noreen...
Good for her Barb but maybe if she had told them I wonder what they would
have said !!but I would have thought
the healed leg should have said it all ;-)))

linedancer...
Yes it will do, it has antiseptic qualities , amazing what the bees can do
for you.

Who was the lady who lived to be over 100 (I think), and she contributed it
to eating honey every day ?

Marg :o)

Jayne...
They do say that honey has antibiotic properties, so I might try that next
time I need to heal. I was also reading about using a locally produced
honey to combat hayfever. Apparently you should eat a spoonful a day,
starting in the winter, to desensitise you to local pollens. I may try that
with the boys next year, although I might have a struggle to get them to eat
honey.

jackie...
Glad it is getting better May, I have heard honey is good for lots of
things, will keep that in mind.I read somewhere it was used lots for wounds
etc. in the distant past.

Foxy at w*rk...
My Mum swears by it
