MCC...
Good morning. Still cold but dry here in Cornwall.

biggeordie...
Good morning....and to everyone else....

A mixture of blue, white and grey around here this morning.

Rabbit...
Bright and sunny here, not quite Walter up above but the BYT is doing well
through the light grey blanket. It isn't cold but the dampness which is in
the air is a bit cooler than yesterday. This was one of those mornings when

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
Just about 4°C (39.2°F) in the garden here. T'was still about freezing
point this time yesterday.

I really noticed it getting lighter again.
Good morning one and all

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
Same here although the temperature has struggled above freezing right now.
Overcast but dry so far.

Hope you are all well.

By my own rules I shouldn't be posting this as I haven't been to sleep yet,
although I have been to bed. Read my book until about 2a.m., tossed and
turned until 3.30 when I finally gave up and got up and came in here. Now
going back to bed to see if there is any sleep to be had. Speak later

jackie...
Good morning Mike and everyone. Sorry you have had such a bad night Mike,
perhaps going over what you learned in your Class??

Still misty and murky here.

I hope you have managed to get some sleep.

Tickettyboo...
Aww its rotten when you can't sleep. Hope that you were able to sleep when
you went back to bed.
I seem to veer between insomnia and wanting to sleep the clock round. This
morning I just wanted to snuggle down in bed and go back to sleep again,
but I am off to the hamster wheel..errmmmm..now!

hopefully.

Have a good day.

biggeordie...
Have a nice day everyone.

Foxy at w**k...
Bit late with my good mornings this morning. I got carried away doing
other things. Hope you don't feel too bad today Mike after your bad
night's sleep (or no sleep, should I say)

Very cold here but dry. It's Friday though so I feel quite light hearted lol

~~seadancer~~...
Not a good day for us.
Today is the day we must put our Maltese dog, jorji, to sleep.

Jeff Gaines...
It's a terrible thing to have to do, however much your brain says it's right
your heart will disagree.

One thing that helped me when I lost my little chap 3.5 years ago was to
write his life story, you have to do it the old fashioned way with pencil
and a block of paper- not a word processor. I eventually tuned it into a
poem, although I am most definitely not a poet :-)

My thoughts, and I'm sure the thoughts of the group, are with you.

He's 17 and because of a weak heart, he's having trouble breathing.
We knew this day would come. We've been nursing him along.
But now it's time to put him out of his misery.
Husband is taking it very hard. No more dogs for me.
Rainy and cloudy here. Temp is 38F/3C.

Anita Carter...
Oh I am so sorry to read that, seadancer - I remember when I had to have my
dog put to sleep, many years ago. I have never replaced her - although it is
over 20 years ago I still cannot do so.
But, like you we have many happy memories of her - and those nobody can take
away from us:)

Aries...
I'm very sad for ((you and your hubby))- been in the situation ourselves a
couple of times and it is hard hard hard :(

~~seadancer~~...
Thank you, Val. Yes, it's hard hard hard.
We've never had to put a dog to sleep.

Rabbit...
If it should be that I grow frail and weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep,

Anita Carter...
it

Then will you do what must be done,
For this -- the last battle -- can't be won.
You will be sad I understand,
But don't let grief then stay your hand,
For on this day, more than the rest,
Your love and friendship must stand the test.
We have had so many happy years,
You wouldn't want me to suffer so.
When the time comes, please, let me go.
Take me to where to my needs they'll tend,
Only, stay with me till the end
And hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you will agree
It is a kindness you do to me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I have been saved.
Don't grieve that it must be you
Who has to decide this thing to do;
We've been so close -- we two -- these years,
Don't let your heart hold any tears.

~~seadancer~~...
Thank you for the thoughtful poem, Sandra.

~~seadancer~~...
Thank you, Sandra. That's beautiful.
I'll send the link to my husband's laptop.
He'll probably start crying again.

Rabbit...
Crying is good ATM.

~~seadancer~~...
Yes, I heard somewhere that they analyzed the tears that come from crying
and they had different proteins (or something) than tears that came from
peeling onions. I thought that was interesting. Maybe I'll web-search for more
info about that some day. Evidently the emotions produce certain things
which show up even in tears. Emotions are so powerful. They affect us in
ways we're not even aware of. I love reading about that sort of psychology.

Thank you for your thoughts.

I know we did the best thing.

One died after an operation. One was runover.
Gee, when people get a puppy, they're asking for it!
Right now, you wouldn't know jorji was sick.
He's sound asleep after his breakfast.

Aries...
Just as well he doesn't know anything - but you do sadly :(

Of giving your heart to a dog to tear." -Rudyard Kipling

Anita Carter...
You are truly welcome, Sea - the beauty of UPS is that we are all here to
help each other in moments of crisis :)

~~seadancer~~...
Yes, I can see that from the posts I've read in the past here.
You've all established a very caring community.
It's a rare thing because, even though you talk about troubles,
you all manage to keep the mood light at the same time.
It's a matter of having the right personalities in the group.
I wonder who remembers the song called "Personality". (g)
I'm dating myself again! (g)

Anita Carter...
'cause you got personality,
Walk, personality
Talk, Personality
Smile, Personality
Charm, personality
Love, personality
And of Cause you´ve got
A great big heart
So over and over .......................

Is that the one you mean?

~~seadancer~~...
That's a good one, but I meant the one that goes as follows:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lyrics to "Personality":
When Madam Pompadour was on a ballroom floor
Said all the gentlemen "Obviously,"
"The madam has the cutest personality"
And think of all the books about Du Barry's looks
What was it made her the toast of Paree?
She had a well-developed personality
What did Romeo see in Juliet? Or Figaro in Figarette?
Or Jupiter in Juno? You know!
And when Salome danced and had the boys entranced
No doubt it must have been easy to see
That she knew how to use her personality
A girl can learn to spell and take dictation well
And never sit on the boss's left knee
Unless she's got a perfect personality
A girl can get somewhere in spite of stringy hair
Or even just a bit bowed at the knee
If she can show a faultless personality
Why are certain girls offered certain things
Like sable coats and wedding rings?
By men who wear their spats right?
(That's right!)
So don'tcha say "I'm smart and have the kindest heart"
Or "what a wonderful sister I'd be"
Just tell me how you like my Personality
Baby, you've got the cutest
Personality!!
Anita Carter...
~~seadancer~~...
Thank you, Anita. Yes the memories are happy ones.
They make us sad and happy at the same time.
Jorji ate his breakfast this morning, ziti pasta & liverwurst,
his favorites. (g) His appetite comes and goes.
That's what makes this decision so hard.
You can see his picture at:
It's in the SISU album. Password is SISU in caps.
Anita Carter...
Thank you for the delightful photos, seadancer - something for you to look
at - but I am sure he will always be with you:)
~~seadancer~~...
You're welcome, Anita. Yes, jorji will always be with me,
as all our loved ones are always with us.
As they say, love is eternal.
Foxy at w**k...
Thank you for showing the pictures sea. Jorji looks like a lovely doggie .
Oh yes, I had forgotten all about that one - now that was one classy set of
lyrics :)
You can see the entire poem called "The Power of the Dog" at:
Rudyard Kipling received the Nobel prize for literature in 1907.
He was buried in Poet's Corner at Westminster Abbey.
Foxy at w**k...
My thoughts are with you Sea. Not an easy thing to do, but the kindess
if jorji is in pain. God Bless
~~seadancer~~...
Thank you, Jen. I keep telling myself that.
Anita Carter...
Hi everybody,
It is definitely a chilly day here today - although we did not have any
frost at all last night.
Our son popped in to see us about 9pm last night - he lives in Chigwell
which is about 10 - 15 minutes away from us (when there are no traffic
jams), he said it was -1 there and a frost had already formed. He was
surprised when he reached here and found it 'warmer'!
Not doing anything much today, chilling out, watching tv -
but I intend to do some surfing later this afternoon - have to sort out some
more tutorials.
Hope all are well
Foxy at w**k...
I held my Golden retriever while he passed away (aged 11) in 1998. All
you can do is be with them, they know you love them.
~~seadancer~~...
So true. Thanks.
Greg Lewin...
Hope you got some sleep eventually.
After a run of several overcast days we have some hazy
sunshine .. what a relief.
What would Buddy Holly have done with another 60 years?
