Well, I *think* that WO was talking about the *Pixel* Size of the Pics?
(which were 1024 x 768, so many people would have to Scroll them
Sideways (& possibly Down as well) in their Browser Window, to see
all of each Pic).

But yes, the File Size was also a bit on the large Size - they *have*
been Compressed (as opposed to being ReSized) a bit, but they are still
about 300 KB each, which means takes a couple of Seconds to Download
each one to View it - That Ecosse.net Server isn't a particularly fast
one, so the Speed of your Internet Connection isn't really the limiting
Factor (assuming the Connection is 512kbps or more), which is why
(or is just *one* of the reasons why) even in these days of Broadband
Internet Connections, it's *still* a good idea to make sure that Pics
are properly Compressed to a small File Size.

Another reason is that with large File Sizes, the bandwidth/Data
Transfer Limits of the Web Space Account will be more likely to be
reached, (so the Site may go offline) as well as the actual WebSpace
Limits.

BTW - With JPEG File Compression. the *Pixel* Size of a JPEG Picture
isn't directly Related to the FileSize - you can have a massive great
(1600 x 1200) Pic, that is well under 100 KB & you can have a tiny
little (800 x 600) Pic that is nearly 1MB in File Size!
