D Drive not accessible ?

Can anyone explain to me what has happened to cause this error message

You could download a small utility from here:-

I have Windows XP and have a utility Xp CD-DVD-Fix. That might help.
You need to download the utility that is specific to your operating
system.

Thanks for responding to my question, look, Steve, and Ponder but none of
those ideas jbexed. I did a little web-search and found this - which did the
trick for me. So just in case anyone else has this problem this is what
you can try :)

Right-Click on the drive w/ the problem
Properties
Recording Tab
and then check the "Enable CD Recording On This Drive" box.

and that fixed it.
i'm running XP home
