Sounds like a very good night out

I've never seen it so crowded.
On stage, Albert Lee and Hogans Heroes and we were standing right there
in the front. Poor old liz's tinitus is going to be giving her some
grief this morning :-)
The old boy is stiil looking good and sounding better than ever, and the
band was as tight as a drum with quite possibly the best piano player on
the planet. I've never seen a pianists hands move so fast. He was able
to keep up with Alberts licks and he's no slouch when it comes to
getting the maximum number notes into any second.
Tiger Rag was an absolute blast.
I've seen Albert a number of times over the years, from fronting pub
country bands in the 70's through Emmylou Harris's Hot Band, with the
Everly Brothers , touring solo and with Gerry Hogan's band.

Sounds like a great night :-) I was in Leicester on Saturday night, but
the occasion was slightly more sedate ( still very enjoyable though)

Boo, if you get the chance, I know you like guitar players, go see this
one. He talks too.:-)

Funny you should say that, I had tickets arrive on Sat for the Buxton
Opera House to see Bill Wyman and the Rhythm Kings ( keep 20th Nov free in
case of a Boo disaster lol). Albert Lee is part of the line up and was
last time we saw them too. It was a good night last time and I am sure it
will be again ( they are opening the tour at De Montfort Hall in
Leicester on Oct 28th)
|
The evening finished with Johnny Burnette's Tear it Up. They certainly
did.
Rock and Roll
We're back to the same venue Thursday for an evening with Neil Innis.
Should be fun.
If you're interested in a really good music venue outside of the
Borderline in London, this is it.

By the time I read the first line I suspected a blues band, but as I read on
it became aparent it was good old rock'n'roll blues. NICE ONE! I used to go
every monday night to see 'Rollin Joe' featuring 'the reverant Doc' on
harmonica. Loved every minute of it!
