I don't know if Pingu is familiar with all of Bagpuss's
weather-terms. Tonight I found a list she was nice enough
to send to me back in February, 2004. Here's what she posted:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"OK Sea, this is for you ... and extract from the Bagpuss Lexicon, Ch.3 v.9
sub-section 3a (pertaining to heavenly bodies and other magical thingies
floating about above your head or landing on it) :-
BYNL = Big Yellow Night Light = the Moon
BYT = Big Yellow Thingy = the Sun
BRT = Big Red Thingy = also the Sun (cos we often have a red sunrise up
here.)
TWINKLETS = Stars
WHIZZIE-TWINKLETS = Shooting Stars
BBFTs = Big Black Fluffy Thingies = Storm Clouds
LGFTs = Little Grey Fuffy Thingies = Little grey clouds
WFTs = White Fluffy Thingies = White fluffy thingies = White Clouds (can be
preceded by B,L or W indicating size and consistency ..big, little whispy
etc.)
WTWDGS = Wall to wall dark grey sky indicating a gie dreich (overcast) day.
WTWBS = Wall to wall blue sky indicating a lovely day.
SPLADOOSH = Torrential rain.
WHITE STUFF = Snow
FUNDER 'n' FRIGHTNING = Thunder and Lightening
HTH. :-))
Bagpuss"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Have you got that memorized yet, Pingu? :)
They give out a special T-shirts for everyone who memorizes
the list. The T-shirts say: "Official SISU Weather-Watcher."
You have a choice of picture on the front. Choose from:
BYT, BYNL, BRT, TWINKLETS, WIZZIE-TWINKLETS,
BBFTs, LGFTs, WFTs, WTWDGS, WTWBS,
SPLADOOSH, WHITE STUFF or FUNDER 'n' FRIGHTNING.
Take your choice!

But the thoughts are there.
Glasses clinked here:)))
