Re Taxes:

Government always claim they want the following following;

1. Reduce emmisions from cars such as large engined 4x4 (no idea why
gas guzzling sports cars don't get a mention)

2. Help people to stop smoking

3. Reduce binge drinking

Do they really want to do all this of course not - they would loose
billions in tax revenue.

I wonder how much more tax increases the motorist will take before
taking action - blocking roads, etc (just like the fuel protests).

It won't w**k Clive, most people in the UK haven't got the staying power
to make any difference.
As a lorry driver I was part of the fuel protest, blocking roads, convoys
on motorways, causing long tailbacks.
All was going well till the police started getting heavy handed and
threatening
to arrest drivers.
My argument was, how many of us could they arrest and lock up ??
Most of them went back to w**k with there tail between there legs, I just
wish the people in this country could be more like the French then maybe
we could make ourselves heard and get things done.

If your thinking of starting a protest let me know, I will be right up there
in the
front line with you.

I just feel very strongly that the motorist is treated as an open
checkbook to raise money for crackpot Government policies.
