And happy birthday from me too Jerry, have a great day. XXXX(((Jerry))) XXXX
BTW you do know the UPS tradition of the birthday boy/girl buying us all a
drink ???:-)

When that Bram pulls his finger out and organises a *meet* up norf norf,
Rabbit...
|
That'll be the day, I'm sure they think there are still cannibals just
across the border, despite it being 700 years since Sawney Bean died :-)
|
then you shall all have a drink of your choice, Tea, coffee, and the
Horlicks will flow in abundance.
Bram...
|
You have just been nominated as the Norf Norf Meet Arranger. I only do the
Yorkshire bit at the moment, cos that's where I live :-) Rest assured though
that if you find somewhere nice, near to a mainline railway station that
sells good food and serves good real ale and is easy to find from anywhere
in the kingdom and is easy for us to get home from, the Meet Marketing Board
will put all it's services at your disposal. We'll be happy to buy our own
drinks by the way.
We want better than just Tea and Coffee!
|
Rabbit...
|
Will you provide sugar and milk too ???:-)

Heh Bram, gee wizz, thanks for that unexpected promotion. I never expected
in my wildest dreams to be made norf norfs entertainment manager!
Yes i can confirm that my nearest railway station is Bergen Norway, and that
they do indeed sell real beer, at the present exchange rate it works out at
about £6 a pint.
Yes, of course norf norf is easy to reach from all parts of the country. We
have an airport, and a nightly ferry service to the mainland, so it would
seem i can fulfill your criteria.
I now await the dates which would be convenient for you, and the expected
numbers.
Looking forward to meeting you at long last.

What a fine family! Those were the days!
..anyway., What's to stop you proving us wrong and YOU organizing a meat for
us.
..er.., Meet for us, I mean.
Rabbit...
|
'Cos I'm not an organiser unless I have to be :-(
|
Ayr..? Glasgae..? wher'ivver.?
Rabbit...

Glasgow has all you mentioned in your reply to Jerry, it also has a pub with
the longest bar in the world, a couple of big malls, a city tour bus, more
parks than any other city in the UK ( the name Glasgow means *dear green
place*), posh areas and posh shopping or ordinary common ones. There's also
the famous Barras where you can buy anything, if they haven't got it in
stock they will soon nick it for you ;-) Plenty of museums from very old
history to modern history, and lots of Charles Rennie Macintosh
architecture. And all that within a short walking distance and a subway if
you want to go a bit further. It's also easy to get to by train, plane
(budget airline price from most UK cities ) and bus with only the airport
outwith the walking area of the city. And to cap it all we ( as in the whole
country) even accept foreign currency notes :-)

Sounds a *must* Sandra

You get cheap ( free?) train fares so there's nothing to stop you and
Westie having a few days there. You would probably be very surprised in the
city and there's lots more I haven't mentioned, like the Science Centre, the
Burrell Collection, the Cathedral, the oldest house in Glasgow, the Tenement
House which is exactly as it was when the last owner lived in it in
Victorian times, a sail down the Clyde to the Braehead shopping centre, The
Tall Ship. There's plenty to keep everybody amused no matter what their
taste and a half hour train journey will take you to the coast.

Worth a weekend visit then. I must get Westies diary out and see what we
have free
