Morning all
I plan a quiet day today after yesterday's excitement
Started of with checks down the local surgery, BP, blood tests,and ECG.

BP result was good and blood test results due next week. Nurse assures
me they are just routine tests because I have now turned 21

Then we had a phone call from our son to say he was just up the

Then we had a phone call from our son to say he was just up the road and
would call in for a cuppa. Told us that he has a new job in London
(subject to references) so, after 10 years living and w**king in Wales
with his fiancée based in London they will now be based in the same town
and, hopefully, will be getting married at the end of the year

Good luck to son with the new job and you better get shopping for that
wedding hat, or maybe *those* wedding hats.

Yes, I hope so, they must have spent a fortune on travel between London
and Cardiff over the past few years. In fact quite often they have met
up at the weekend in Paris where they have the use of a flat as, with
cheap flights, air miles, etc, it was cheaper to go there!

Not really Jackie. Went down last week as I had noticed a funny little
mole like growth that turned out to be nothing serious but doctor
decided as he hadn't seen me for about 5 years he would take my blood
pressure. It was slightly up so he decided I should have these tests.
Yesterday the BP was way down so the nurse reckons it was just a blip
last week as I had cycled two miles to the surgery against a head wind.
The other tests she said were just routine for their "more mature
patients" and as they don't see me very often they thought they would
catch me while they have the chance. Have to go back next week for the
blood test results. Think they are checking cholesterol levels and

Got the results of my fasting blood glucose and cholesterol checks this
morning.

That sounds better than you were expecting so it's good news and good they
will keep an eye on you.

Th sugar was down from 9.4 to 5.5 which is right or the line they draw.
So I'm not diabetic - as yet - but a further test should be done in 6 months
time.
The total cholesterol level was about the same numerical value - at 5.5 - is
that a coincidence I ask? Anyhow that again is borderline so another test
in 12 months and in the meantime keep off the saturated fats. Is that
goodbye to the butter and choccy
I ask? I can sense pmj and one or two others shaking in thaeir shoes at the
thought of it. :)

Not sure Val. I wore a hat for both my older daughters' weddings and I
wore a hat when son was called to the bar. Don't like them though

Started off with frost here then the BYT got out of bed and she's warm
today. There is a slight breeze which makes it chilly in the shade but out
of the shade the heat is surprisingly warm.Beautiful views over the water
today, you can see the smoke from a chimney of a little cottage somewhere
half way up Arran.

It is a fine sunny start but frosty and cold with it.

Hope you are all well or at least on the mend from whatever ailed you.
Thoughts are with the poorlies.
Not much planned for today of which I am aware, but no doubt SWMBO will
have some fun-filled activity in mind, such as shopping at ASDA or such
like, just to keep me amused ;-)
A new B&Q is being built immediately adjacent to our local ASDA, with all
the associated roadworks etc. Some truly horrendous traffic jams have
occured as a result so we have gone elsewhere while that was happening but
the latest info is that the roads are all clear again now so no doubt we
shall have to go and inspect ;-)

Oh don't mention B&Q and roadjbex, I'm surrounded again by the latter, I
can't leave home without meeting them and had the usual *couldn't care less*
attitude at the former today. I wanted a new lamp, I asked if I could see it
off the high shelf so I could judge it better. The answer was *no*.Oh well
their loss was somewhere else's win, I didn't expect anything else anyway,
at least not in my local store.

Tonight the mystery guest was Bob Cummings.
Haven't heard about him in a long time.
I see that he died in 1990 at the age of 81.
I wonder if he ever appeared on TV in the UK.
