BoyPete...
I like watching stories about war life. However, it has a peculiar effect on
me in that I keep feeling I wish I was around then. Although the war was a
terrible thing, something seems to have gone wrong with people since then.
Is it possible those bad days could in some ways actually be better than
now?
Debate.

Old Grizzly...
You have yet to learn i think Pete that the older you get the current
younger people discount all you say as senile babble so when you try to
use experience, learning & knowledge for the betterment of today its
totally discounted.
You dont have to get back to some practices like outside toilets, just
a small coal fire, long working hours and so on, but i would love to be
among people with respect for other people and their views, property,
law and in my view respect even for themselves.
The problem is that the *management* (?) of the country has been in the
hands of incompetants for the last 20/30 years.
I remeber .......... no i shall shutup LOL

noreen...
I watched it Pete and enjoyed it !! seems it was a true tale as well.
I remember when there was an "air raid " the neighbours would come round to
our
house and all huddle together in our cellar, really don't know why ?. Except
Mum would always have something prepared for these events ;-)))))

Troy's Human...
I don't remember the war but I do remember the 50's and 60's. People seemed
to care *so* much more about each other in those days. Yep - something does
seem to have gone wrong with people since then :-(

Seems that without bad things to worry about and get together with others,
people are only interested in themselves. I really don't understand it :-(
