John in Cornwall...

I just been across the moor at Davidstow - and seen for myself the piles and
piles of rubbish these "Raver's" have left.

That really annoys me. When we went to the cheese rolling I was really
angry about the amount of litter left on the hill. I felt like going up
to people and saying "hey pick that up" but I suspect I would only have
had abuse hurled at me.
We have a saying in the Guides - leave nothing behind but your thanks!
Cigarette butts is another of the things I get annoyed about. In our
local bus station the paving stones are covered in butts. Do they, I
wonder, drop their cigarette ends on the floor at home and grind them
into the carpet?

and don't forget the chewing gum spat out all over our pavements and other
places. I got some on my shoe once that I inadvertantly trod into the
car's foot carpet :( Tony wasn't amused :(

See my earlier post. The other thing that really bugs me is dog owners
allowing their pets to foul the pavements. Not much fun when your blind
father returns from a walk and spreads it all over the carpets. Yuk!!!

ROFL!
That made me smile/laugh!...
What other kind of carpets are there then?
Ali...
|
Wall carpets, commonly known as tapestries, but made by the same method as
(hand-woven) floor carpets.
The famous Bayeaux Tapestry is actually embroidery.
|
Are there things like "hand Carpets"?
Or, maybe "head carpets"?
:-)
BTW - Do you have some kind of Fancy Flash Car then?
Don't most people just have "mats" in their Car, so that they
can quickly & easily be cleaned, when stuff gets trodden into
(or dropped on) the Floor of the Car?
:-)

That is awful John and I suppose being on the Moor there is no way to stop
them
and once they have been they will come again!. I just don't know what the
solution will
be it gets frightening !!
|
I know it's a free country and that folk will say "it's a free country and
they wasn't hurting anyone" - well no.. I agree they wasn't hurting anyone -
apart from the thousands of pounds spent in police man hours - the thousands
of pounds it will cost to clear up the piles of beer cans - food wrappers -
rotting food ... the thousands of pounds it will cost to clear up the piles
of human excrement - cos there are no toilets on the moor.... and apart from
the local farmers who graze sheep and cattle on the moor, and who have had
to move them in case they swallow bits of broken glass.... Apart from all
that - NO .. I don't suppose they was hurting anyone !
How do you define freedom ?

Typical of ths day and age I'm afraid John. And what is worse nobody tries
to do anything to stop it.

Quite frightening !
Laws are pointless if they can't be implemented - as they clearly were not
in this case - and in so many other cases in this day and age :-(
