Aries...
Format and delete partitions on an external hardrive please? My brain is
not coping so well tonight LOL

pmj...
Well, first thing is *not* to try & do it, when your "brain is not
coping so well"!
:-)

Basically, you do it in the same way as any Hard Disk - Internal,
External or otherwise...

But if it's an External Hard Disk connected up using USB, then it's
unlikely that you'll be able to do it using FDisk.

& besides, FDisk has some probs with very Large Hard disks.

So it's normally best (for most people, when using WinXP) to use
the built-in Disk Management Utility, that comes with WinXP

RightClick My Computer>Manage>Storage>Disk management

Or Control Panel (Or Start Menu)>Administrative Tools>Disk Management

Or Start>Run diskmgmt.msc [OK]

If you want to do it using a Command Line Utility, then you can use...

Start>Run diskpart [OK]

Or Enter diskpart in a Command Prompt Window

Use diskpart /? for more Info - or look in the WinXP Help & Support
for all the available Commands for it.

Aries...
thanks for the explanation, appreciated :)

Aries...
