Tickettyboo...
Is where I have been today..and guess which numpty forgot to take her

JoeH...
Looking forward to the piccies LOL

Tickettyboo...
oh I was so cross with myself. Mind is on other stuff today.

JoeH...
...some *small* matter, no doubt....

camera!

BunnyHare...
Aaw Boo, not like you. We will forgive you though as you were having
expectations?

Rabbit...
Not like you, I guess your mind was preoccupied ;-)

mothy...
That mill used to be wreck when I worked in that area. It has certainly
had some good work done on it. Must get over and see it.

Tickettyboo...
Yes, it is really worth a visit, not least for the enthusiasm of the
volunteers who staff it.

Why is it that we travel to far off lands and never enjoy our own
environment.

Tickettyboo...
I kind of do both, though this year we have been doing more of the
tourists at home thing. We are so lucky in this area, such a lot to see
and do and lovely countryside ( good pubs too!)

We went to the Industrial Museum in Derby recently and found the whole
visit fascinating we ended up in the Dolphin, very pleasant.

Tickettyboo...
That is on my list, may keep it till the winter though

But then there's the whole of Derbyshire and the Staffordshire Moorlands
that should keep one busy for ages.

MCC...
It's the old age, dear, and there's no cure for it :-))
And I'm speaking from years of experience

Tickettyboo...
aah well, I aint as experienced as you dear :-)

anyone wants to see. Its not very far from where we live, but its the
first time we have visited, though I have seen it from a distance. I am
really enjoying this 'being a tourist on my own patch' stuff!

BunnyHare...
Looks an intersting place to visit. Good isn't it, being a tourist on
your own patch. Like me on my walks

Rabbit...
Oh it looks lovely, it's great being a tourist on your doorstep, even more
so when you have foreign visitors :-)

Tickettyboo...
It stands on a hill and sort of looks like a gentle giant, as if it were
looking after the valley. Though is has been restored, most of the
'workings' are original..or faithfully remade with similar materials..like
the leather hinges on the trap doors.

BunnyHare...
Ooh that brought back memories of a windmill poem from schooldays.
Can't remember it all but one bit went

I stand here in my place,
With my foot on the rock below
And whichever way it may blow
I meet it face to face
As a brave man meets his foe

Was built it 1798 and has been fully restored to be the only six sailed,
squat ,stone built , working windmill in England ( or I think that's what
the lady said)
and it is beautiful, really beautiful. The people who do the guided tours
and the ladies in the little shop are really nice, very informative and
friendly.
I now have two bags of stone ground flour and I have met the people who
ground it, seen round the mill and learned about how it was done.
Bread anyone ? :-)

world..taking so long it 'must' be a boy!>

noreen...
Looks nice Boo !! i will have a small loaf please,;-)
Sure to be a boy , hope it doesen't take too long for her ;-)))

Jackie...
That was a very interesting tour Boo, I enjoyed it.
I hope the little one soon decides to come, perhaps he thinks it is warmer
in there, it is fairly chilly here!

Tickettyboo...
If he takes much longer he'll be due to start school!

Old Grizzly...
cant make its mind up so must be a girl ;-)

Tickettyboo...
whatever it is, I just wish it would hurry! LOL and then I have to wait
another week before I can go for huggles. I will prolly burst with

Faolan...
Just don't forget the camera in your excitement will you. Then again
with a wain you probably won't get chance will you ;)

Tickettyboo...
I wont forget that time and there are cameras there I could 'borrow' if
needed. I will ask permission to put a pic or two on my webspace, so you
can see.

impatience by then :-)

Rabbit...
I agree, must be a boy, he won't ask for directions :-)

Tickettyboo...
aint that the truth!

pmj...
Nope!
It definitely *isn't* the truth at all!!!

I don't really know how or where the (false, malicious) Rumour
started (or came from) about that sort of thing.

I've always been very grateful for directions when trying to get
somewhere that I haven't been before - but obviously it does help
if the directions are being given by somebody who *can* actually
read (& understand) a Map properly.

& yes, it *does* help if they do have a Map Book & it hasn't been
left behind somewhere in a Service Station!
:-)

Anita...
Looks and sounds interesting Boo - any chance of you returning with a
camera?

Tickettyboo...
Oh yes, when my sis in law gets home from her jollidays we will take them
there - its just the sort of thing she loves and I will definitely take my
camera

Well known fact that boys are always longer in appearing - of ten wonder
if it is because they have a preconceived idea of what they might be in

Tickettyboo...
I just reckon they are a bit lazy LOL

noreen...
I agree Boo ;-)))

for ;))
