Brocolli
carrots & parsnips
runner beans.
Before we had the steamer this would have meant
three saucepans and three hotplates with some of
the nourishment poured down the sink.
Now it's one heat source and a tastier and healthier meal.
Every little helps !

Good point sam, but how does a steamer like that work for veg needing
different cooking times? eg. Brocolli and Carrots?

I put the potatoes in the base pan in the water, then Carrots/Cauli in the
first tier, Broccoli in the top one as it seems to cook slower in that one.
I also bought a second steamer from Asda, so I can add another tier if
necessary, or if we have friends to dinner I have an extra steamer to use.

With all this intake of veggies I don't think your added emissions will help
towards the reduction of global warming. Methane is a greenhouse gas. :)

The steamer usually comes with at least three separate layers.
You just put the layer of veggies that require longest steaming on first
and then add the layers that need less cooking time on a few minutes later.
