I was upset to hear that Desmond Lynham is to leave "Countdown" at
Christmas...
When Richard Whitely sadly died - it was as thought a perfect replacement
was found in Desmond - and now we must go through it all again.
Who would YOU put foreward as a replacement for Desmond ?

LOL TH. It is a Tv Programme which exercises your brain by thinking of words
from given letters and doing sums from given numbers. Try it. It is on
Channel 4 Mon to Fri at 3.30.

like the one who does the Eggheads quiz? Dermot someone. As long as it is
not Noel Edmonds.

Me neither. I tried to watch Deal or No Deal ages ago, but could not see the
point of it. IMO no skill involved just greed.

Useful skills for playing Deal or No Deal:
an understanding of probability,
and an ability to re-calculate odds.
a psychic ability to determine the contents of the boxes.

Really there's no more greed involved than in 'Millionaire', just less
knowledge of assorted facts.

In both programmes, it's fascinating to watch the contestant trying to
decide if the potential gain is worth the potential loss.
