~~seadancer~~...
I've just found a way to find out weather each day in the UK.

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
No good Sea - they don't seem to have Sheffield on it, and Shefield is
about the 5th largest city in England - populationwise that is.

I'm feeling left out now. :(

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
Then if anyone wants to check on the Sheffield (UK) weather then bookmark:

~~seadancer~~...
I've bookmarked it, FN.
But they don't give the Farenheit equivalent.
How provincial. (g) Ooops, I see a link to convert.
OK, here's your weather as of now:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Current Nearest Observations:
cloudy 7°C 44°F
S (9 mph)
Relative Humidity (%): 75,
Pressure (mB): 984, Falling,
Visibility: Very good
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
It's actually bright and sunny with a temperature of 50°F atm Sea.
Slight gusty winds, Humidity 80% and Pressure 975 millibars

~~seadancer~~...
Sounds like a nice day, FN.
Wunderground.com tells me it's 44°F/7°C in Nottingham right now.
We have: 46°F / 8°C right now, but they say that Friday the
temp is going to drop drastically and Saturday it could go
down to 0 degrees F / 17.78C ! :-(

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
Very dark and overcast as from 18-00. Looks and feels like some of the wet
stuff is imminent. :(

http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?id=3290&links

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
Nah! I'm off to bed now, so I'll leave them for the early birds. LOL

Rabbit...
Nightie night, I'll be there shortly :-)

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
I won't be holding my breath. ;)

Jeff Gaines...
Promises, promises :-)))

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
If it was, she didn't keep it. :(

Rabbit...
You forgot already ???:-(

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
Methinks you've been having extremely pleasant dreams then.

Rabbit...
Oh now I remember that nightmare I had :-)

Given up on George then? :)

Rabbit...
Well Mr Clooney to you, couldn't even send me an 8 pence Valentine card :-(

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
Or a free internet one. Perhaps he's trying to tell you something. :(

Rabbit...
Awww!! Go and eat worms :-)

~~seadancer~~...
Don't feel left out, FN. (g)
What is the nearest city on the list?
I looked you up on Mapquest.com.
I see you are near Peak District Nat'l Park. What's that?

Jeff Gaines...
It's FN's back garden, it was awarded to him by a grateful nation on
his retirement :-)

It's a beautiful place, FN is kind enough to share!

~~seadancer~~...
LOL - Oh, how nice!
How long a walk is it for FN to get there from his home?

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
The boundary of the Peak District National Park is just 3 miles away from
here Sea.

The area is green on the map.
I notice you're inland, well north of London.
I see Nottingham south of you. It's on the Wunderground list.
Temp there at this time is: 41 °F / 5 °C -- Partly Cloudy
88% humidity. Wow.
I know that the weather differs when you go a few miles,
as the posters are explaining to me.
Our temp here at this time is: 37 °F / 3 °C -- Partly Cloudy

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
Bookmark the following link Sea:
It gives you either a 5 day or 24 hour forecast for Sheffield UK.
You can also enter any other city you want and get forecasts for them too.

~~seadancer~~...
Yes, I've already bookmarked it from your other post.
As for entering the cities, I don't know where most of
the SISU folks are.

Aries...
here you go then Sea - this link will tell you exactly where most of us
live :)

~~seadancer~~...
Thanks, Val, that's a handy map, but I was hoping that folks
would choose from the list of cities named at the URL* because
then I could click on the "Favorites" optons there and the city
would then be included in my cities-list at my Wunderground
Weather Site.
*The URL with the list of UK city names is as follows:
I realize that not everyone in SISU is near those cities and,
from what the replies here say, there is no guarantee that
the weather report would be accurate because weather differs
quickly depending on location in the UK.
But it was a good idea while it lasted. (g)

Rabbit...
Well you've got my two Prestwicks on that list, they are pretty accurate for
here on the Ayrshire coast. Just pick the best weather one :-)

In other words, I was trying to get the UK city names onto
one page where I could see at one glance, their temperatures.
For example, see the cities below, which I have
on my current list online at Wunderground:

The other Wunderground link (which I originally posted) allows
me to put all my favorite weather locations on one webpage at
Wunderground. They're in a list, showing temps in C and F.
With one glance I can see all the temps at all the places
on my favorites list. For example, right now
the highest is: Adelaide, S. Australia. 79°F/26°C
The lowest is... MY TOWN! Argh! 36°F/2°C

~~seadancer~~...
[...]

I've made London a "favorite" on my weather page.

pmj...
LOL!!!
:-)

Mike Tullett...
I think one of the most remarkable features of this winter has been the
lack of any really strong winds up here. It's been the calmest winter in
many a year.

Nope.
That's no good.
It's *wrong*!
It must be Brokted!!!

It's *always* Sunny in London!!!
Ask Anita!!!

Troy's Human...
I must correct you there pmj. It's always Sunny in *Walstamstow* (where
Anita lives). The rest of London certainly doesn't have the same weather as
Walstamstow !!

Anita Carter...
Hey you should know how to spell Walthamstow - being as how you used to
frequent it LOL

I actually have Anita's address and visit her road regularly. She does lots

Mike Tullett...
I had the same problem with the Axis software, but you can install it
another way. Download the .zip on this page and install the enclosed .exe
file. The required activex control will be then installed.

of topless sunbathing (even in the middle of winter).

JoeH...
No wonder you have trouble seeing your monitor properly - *it's yer
eyes* man LOL

Troy's Human...
No No No !! It's not my eyes !!

Anita topless is a wonderful site (unlike my new monitor).

Anita Carter...
Of course it would be a wonderful site - don't forget they say that beauty
is in the eyes of the beholder - hahahahahahaha

Hi Anita :-)

Anita Carter...
Hiya Troy's Human :)

Anita Carter...
Well Joe, if he saw me sunbathing topless - wouldn't matter about the
trouble with his monitor - he would not be able to see it LOL
:))

If anyone would like the name of Anita's road please email me with your
credit card number. I will require £250 for the name of Anita's street
(well worth it).

Anita Carter...
Hey - I demand a share in this, if I have to expose myself to all and sundry
you have to make it worth my while. Not that I am saying I will do so lol
;)

Thank you :-)))

Rabbit...
Oh I get regular visits from them :-)

:-)

What other cities should I include among my favorites...

pmj...
Try somewhere Way Ooop North on the West Coast of Bonnie Scootland?...
That's where Sandra (Rabbit) is.

~~seadancer~~...
Thanks, Sandra.
I wish I had time and energy to look at them all.
I'll save this post for future reference.
Our grands are visiting overnight this weekend and I have lots
to do to get ready for their visit. They're arriving tomorrow!
Time to get moving! (g)

It's always very warm & mild there - in fact usually it's hotter
there than over in the Caribbean!
:-)

towns where Silversurfers live?

Pam the goose...
No point of that where I live between Liverpool and
Manchester.
We don't get the weather of either city.
If they have rain you can bet we have sun or if they're
windy we have air as still as it comes!
Because the UK is so tiny we have weather differing within
30 miles.
And, of course, the Pennine Chain goes up the centre of
North England so that makes the weather difference between
areas even more pronounced.

~~seadancer~~...
Thanks, Pam.
I can see it's not a simple matter, with so many differences
in weather between points in the UK.
No wonder you folks are always comparing weather. (g)

Pam the goose...
ROFL
We are just 3 miles from Warrington and we can often leave
here on a quiet Spring-like morning to find it's raining
cats and dogs in Warrington. When we get back home it's as
dry as it was when we left! It sometimes happens the other
way over, wet here, dry there:)
But we in the UK are used to it:)

~~seadancer~~...
That's happened here too at times.
A blizzard in Glens Falls, and not a bit
of snow in Bolton Landing, less than a
half hour away by car.

Rabbit...
I'll back up what Pam says. I have a friend who lives about 12 miles from
me, she has been known to ask me about snow/sleet/ice and I've not known a
thing about it. She is inland though while I live on the coast and any snow
headed towards me usually lands on the Isle of Arran before it gets to the
mainland coastal areas.

Rabbit...
OK here's an idea to show you the vagaries of the British weather. Go to

Mike Tullett...
Head scratching time now as Plusnet also fails for me too:-( The
Kilmarnock cam is OK though, so must be using different controls. I'm
going to be busy now until Tuesday but will try again then.

Prestwick on your weather link, you will find two entries for that, you will
find that sometimes the weather differs in them. Those two places are the
width of an airport runway apart, one is the airport the other a naval
station.
BTW Prestwick Airport's claim to fame is that it is the only place in the UK
which Elvis Presley set foot and fans still flock there on anniversaries.

Tyke...
Adelaide,South Australia 8-)

32c today.

~~seadancer~~...
I found Adelaide's weather at:
Right now the Adelaide weather is described as:
75 °F / 24 °C -- Clear

Anita Carter...
We often have bright sunshine and very mild here and 15 minutes away it is
chilly and dull. Always happens with London ;)

Pam the goose...
If people don't live with it they don't believe it happens,
do they, Anita?

Anita Carter...
They certainly seem not to believe it here Pam - but have you noticed that
all the disbelievers are of the male gender? That must tell us something

Pam the goose...
I hadn't till you mentioned it, but you are right and it
must;)

But does in many places. I live in one of them!!

Anita Carter...
Pam the Goose

I am glad you agree, Pam - because it is definitely right - the sun is
shining brightly here at present - but I know for a fact that 15 minutes
away is is dull and overcast ;)

Pam the goose...
It is here, too, but from the sky I would reckon Manchester
isn't so lucky:)

Anita Carter...
Well, I have to tell you the heavens just opened up and we had a 5 minutes
heavy downpour - but the sky is clearing again, and the sun is pushing
through too :))

Pam the goose...
Oh, dear, sorry for the poor things who were out in it:(
The black clouds towards Manchester have changed to white so
I take it they've dropped their load! We're still basking in
sunshine with fluffy white clouds to N,S,E and West of us:)

Anita Carter...
We have sunshine again - and the downpour we had obviously did some good -
cos the sun is quite warm :)

I've put it on my weather favorites list.
I see lots of sunshine there for Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

John #8...

Thanks Sea: It a very interesting website & in my favorites
as I type. 150 years ago when I was a alien resident of the
UK it rained, constantly & the fog was always a threat. Now
from the silversurfer information service the fog has lifted & I guess
it doesn't rain every day. I liked the weather in my UK days &
the beer & girls helped quite a bit. :-)

John:
Ps: It was 55 degrees in Connecticut today. Tomorrow will
be warm then the temp will drop like a stone from below zero
to twenty this weekend. No surprise in New England.

~~seadancer~~...
Hi John,
Yes, it seemed like spring today, didn't it.
I see you have fond memories of the UK.
I'm surprised you didn't bring home a Scottish lass. (g)
Do you remember a favorite lass's name from your UK days?

John #8...
________________________

My first real girlfriend was a Welsh girl (Gillian Martin) from
Swansea. She was pretty, smart & after a year dumped me.

Jeff Gaines...
Well you said she was smart J#8 :-))

John #8...

That she was, Jeff & she sure wasn't alone. LOL

Next was a girl who's name was Shirley Cole from Bristol. God,
she was a beauty. Btw after a while she dumped me. There is a
pattern there, Sea.:) I hope these girls & some of my RAF pals
are still healthy & enjoying life. They made me happy & they will
remain forever young to me. After Shirley I spent my time in London
& the results of that will remain a secret forever. :-))

~~seadancer~~...
Oh, so you *do* remember!
Must have been worth remembering. (g)

Lin...
I am on the east coast of Scotland, Seadancer.
Lin

pmj...
LOL!

You are really Sandra (or Anita) - & I claim my prize!

~~seadancer~~...
UK must be a real problem for the weathermen. (g)
I imagine they get frustrated trying to guess what's
going to happen.

Pingu...
Especially when it comes to predicting Hurricane. ;-)

~~seadancer~~...
All I found was:
I didn't notice 2 entries. Thanks anyway.

Rabbit...
Try this page

~~seadancer~~...
Ah, yes, now I see the two Prestwicks.
Thanks, Sandra.

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
That's rubbish too - still no Sheffield. :(

Rabbit...
Face it, you don't exist :-)

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
So you must all have pretty good imaginations then, if I'm a figment of
them. :)

Rabbit...
You telling me there is a Flying Nun on the voter's role ????:-)

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
Nothing's impossible. :)

frogman...
Oh yes he does see my reply to his last post :-)

Rabbit...
He plays the bugle ????:-)

frogman...
rotflmho of course he does among other things ;-)

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
Ta Froggie - nice to see someone is sticking up for me. LOL

frogman...
You're welcome, we have all been bullied from time to time ;-)

Rabbit...
Just the Tykes :-)

on a serious note, Weather Watcher is an excellent program and well
worth trying.

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
Yep I have that, and it never tallies with my electronic outdoor
thermometer. But then parts of my back garden are shaded from direct
sunlight all day, so take much longer to warm up.

Rabbit...
Before I try it does it have Prestwick as a weather station ? Most programs
I've seen only seem to have Glasgow, Edinburgh and maybe Inverness and none
of those will have the same weather as me.

Mike Tullett...
I've looked at that software for the first time this morning. Seems good
at presenting the information and is likely based on the main USA weather
forecasting model (GFS). It is already signalling some snow in E and SE
England next week.

BTW you are near Ayr? That is listed in "cities".

frogman...
Sorry honey it doesn't have Prestwick :-(

Rabbit...
Thanks sugar, I'll not bother then :-(

frogman...
Ok then flower :-)

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
Spring must be nearly here!
I wonder if a meet in the top field is in the offing again? ;)

Rabbit...
He'd probably still leave me there in the cold waiting :-(

frogman...
Never !! not you ;-)

Rabbit...
Hey I'm a Scorpio I never forget, you did it six years ago :-(

frogman...
Which if I remember correctly was not my fault but a misunderstanding,
anyway after SIX years don't you think I have "done my time" and paid
for my crime?

Rabbit...
Maybe but you'll not hear the end of it ever, Scorpios never forget :-)

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
Not twice, surely? :(

Rabbit...
Wouldn't bet on it :-(

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
You aren't the only one - which reminds me I'm so blasé about it I forgot to
check last night's Lottery numbers - just a mo - - - - - - - - - -

Rabbit...
I'm waiting in anticipation. Are you my new best friend or not ???:-)

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
Yep! That's the sting in the tail. :)

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
'twould appear that normality is restored after last Saturday's hiccup or 2
correct numbers. Back to zilch! :(

frogman...
Then download Weather Watcher which does include Sheffield and hundreds
of other places and keeps you fully up to date with the latest weather
for your area, it's accurate too.

Saxman...
This works better and has the same weather source.

frogman...
Thanks will have a look at that :-)

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
I think we've managed to get a link that Sea has bookmarked for the
Sheffield weather F.
You on the up then?

~~seadancer~~...
But FN, I don't want a link.
I want to include the city on my Favorites city-list at Wunderground.com.
Unfortunately, Sheffield was not one of the cities which was "listable"**.

Interesting about Presley. What a charmer!

If it doesn't have Bill's mother's marked on it then its worse than
useless, I am afraid.
( It always seems to be black over Bill's mother's )

DH said she always had a little cloud over her head. (g)
But she was a good woman.
