Was told today that the unusually mild weather for the time of year is
leftovers of a recnt hurricane. I'm starting to believe it now as the noise
of the trees in the wind tonight is really quite unbelievable! I have my
windows wide open just now and its such a soothing noise. The wind is stong
but in a non threatening way. Not long ago I stood hanging out the window
enjoying the noise as well as the distinct lack of road traffic or
pedestrians.
Its beautifull! I thought about going out for a walk in it too!

Weren't we told this was George petering out on this side of the Atlantic?
We certainly had some high gusty winds during yesterday afternoon, yet
clear blue sky at the time.

One thing I wasnt aware of is that in Ireland at the start of this thread
many homes were without electricity due to broken power lines, and many
roads closed due to fallen trees! I hadnt knwn that what I exerienced as a
strong but silent wind was a devastating wind elsewhere. So Now I appologise
to anyone who was affected badly by the weather I wrote of.

Apparently there's another one brewing up too. Helen or Heather, can't
