BoyPete...
With ie, when I visit a website, I can right click and save a shortcut to my

Another (possibly quicker?) way to do it is to just Drag the Icon
from the AddressBar in the Browser to the Desktop. (or any other
Folder)

That works in Internet Explorer & in most other Web Browsers.

You can also Drag any of the Shortcuts that are in the Favorites
out into another Folder (or onto the Desktop)

desktop. I can't see a way to do the same with Mozilla. Can it be done? :)

pmj...
See above.
:-)

Just Drag the Icon from the AddressBar to the Desktop.
Or make it into a Favorite ("Bookmark" in Mozilla) & Drag it from
there.

JoeH...
In Firefox you right click on the page and choose save-as, navigate to the
desktop and save it. If you don't mean Firefox then it may be similar.

pmj...
But that will, surely, Save the Page itself (the HTML), rather than
just Saving a *Shortcut* to the Page?

Ali...
Or drag the icon from the address bar to the desktop (or any other folder).

pmj...
Yep, that's prolly the simplest & quickest way to do it.
That's the way it can be done in Interen tExplorer & many other
Browsers.
But many people don't know about that.

Aries...
I reckon that's the best way to do it- thank Ali

I love Firefox :)

pmj...
Well, Firefox may be good, in lots of ways, but (in that respect)
it's no better (or different) than/to Internet Explorer - you've
always been able to Create Shortcuts to Pages using IE, by just
Dragging the Icon from the AddressBar (or by using RightClick>Create
Shortcut), or any of several other ways.

Another useful & handy thing to know (which I presume works in
Firefox as well?) is that if you have a Web Page Open & it has Links
on it to other Web Pages, you can Drag the *Links* on the Page onto
the Desktop, (or into the Favourites/Bookmarks or any other Folder),
to Create a Shortcut to the Page that the Link goes to.
