Remember the parking problems on our crescent? How about this one?
Yesterday afternoon I arrived home (16:10) to find almost the only parked
car was a dark blue Mondeo estate parked on the pavement right outside my
house. I know the car, it belongs to the daughter from next door. She is
married to a policeman and usually does not park outside my house since she
knows I park there whenever I can. So I presumed it was her husband who had
parked there . There was just enough room for me to park behind it and
leave the entrance to my other neighbour's drive in clear, if I parked up
to 3 inches away from the rear of the Mondeo. I thought that would be OK,
since he doesn't usually stay long and I could then drive my car forwards.
But I was wrong. He had left it there and been picked up to go to w*rk. So
I was boxed in by then. No sweat, I wasn't going out again that evening.
He arrived back at 23-50 and immediately walked round to the rear of his car
to see how close I had parked , then went in to his FIL's house. I then,
thought he'll be off with the family soon. Wrong again he stayed overnight,
and has gone top w*rk again leaving the cars like this. See piccies:
The red Celica is mine, the blue Mondeo and silver grey Skoda + the vacant
drive-in belong next door. His car is still there, so why if he knew he
was leaving it 24 hours why didn't he park it in the drive in and show a
little thought for the rest of us. Since I'm out this evening, I can't
afford to get hemmed in so I've had to park outside someone else's house and
inconvenience them. I thought our policemen were supposed to be capable of
a little forethought and to care for the law abiding community, and not go
out of their way to antagonise members of our law abiding public. I feel a

You're thinking of the good old style coppers we used to have. It changed
for me about 30 years ago when a young copper called me 'mate'. The police
suffer from the same poor educational/courtesy standards as all employers.
In fact if you reminded a current day policeman that he was a public
servant he either wouldn't understand or he'd arrest you for something.

Yep and the car's still there, and the other two car families on the road
are now having difficulty in finding a parking space now they're all getting
home from w*rk.

How inconsiderate, if he's an example of our police force heaven help us :-(
It seems to me that some of the younger generations do not have any respect
or consideration for others.
Can't you put a note on his windscreen asking him to move it , or words to

I shouldn't need to Pat, I've lknown the parents and daughter since the
early 1980's. When the girls were young I acted as witness on their
passport applications. Thinks now, I should have charged them. Well other
doctors do, but we were supposed to be friends back then. It's only a
month ago I was feeding their fish whilst they were away on holiday so that
the daughter(who's car it is) didn't have to travel the few miles each day
to do it. I don't think I'll be available, next holiday they have.
