Bah Humbug!

Mr Tesco just delivered my Xmas order - closest date I could get to Xmas!

I decided not to get a whole turkey but a 'Turkey Roast' instead as
there's only me here. Having unpacked it I've discovered it's just
slightly bigger than a small tin of baked beans :-(

Oh well, won't have to worry about what to do with the left overs!

Last year we could not get a slot for our Xmas order so I booked a slot on
the date they opened the list for Xmas -at 10 a.m. quite a lot of the slots
were full but I got one for Fri. 22nd. which is the last date for delivery
before the hols.and I have already booked for the Sat. before New Year.

My problem is there are no women in this house so things like shopping can
be a real issue :-))

I s'pose that (& the ridiculously early Xmas Delivery Date) is one
of the "advantages" of Shopping OnLine (with someone else picking the
stuff), as opposed to going into the Shop yourself & choosing it?

The prob(?) I find is that when I go to places to buy stuff like that
I end up staying too long in the Bakers Section & buying loads of Yummy
Cakes & stuff!!!

I got 2 dozen mince pies, 2 litres of ice cream, 2 tins of condensed milk
and 2 tubs of brandy butter.

Now, will that all still be there on Xmas day or not I wonder :-)

I'm looking forwards to Xmas Eve (& then Boxing Day etc), when all
the local Tesco Express places (which have taken over the various
Petrol Stations round here) Flog off all the Cream Cakes & festive
stuff at 20 or 30 p!!!

I forgot to mention the two LARGE tins of Celebrations, I'm sampling them
to make sure they are fresh :-)

Their Stock Control (& anticipation of what will sell & by when) seems
fairly poor & they regularly end up Flogging loads of stuff off at
"bargin prices" such as 30 p or 75 % off.

I suppose lots of other people will be having vegetarian Christmas dinners
as well Jeff. LOL
