Just a little question,
I have just acquired a cordless mouse (Trust MI-4100) and was wondering
what approximately is the life of the batteries?

I have the same model, it worked for a couple of days then packed up
and it is not the batteries!
In fact all mouse control was lost even wired, had to fiddle with
keyboard control and eventually got an old Compaq two button to work
by, I think, a driver reinstall.
The Thrust still does not work so have left well alone.

It varies per mouse and by how much you use it. My first wireless mouse
had a battery life of 2 days max, but that was rechargable and came with a
charging cradle. The one I'm using now had an up to 8 months battery life.
That's about the span of battery life expectancy ;)

SWMBO has a Typhoon Keyboard/Mouse and the Duracell batteries last around 5
Wks in the mouse, and it does a lot of w*rk .

I suppose it depends how often you use it. :-)
I bought a Logitech MX 1000 cordless rechargeable laser mouse and the
battery is supposed to last about five years.
It was expensive when it first came out (and still is) but I managed
to get mine for £35.53 instead of £53.

Many thanks all,
I guess it's just a case of *suck it and see* and a lot depends on the
make and model and of course usage.

The best cordless I had has been discontinued by Logitec. It had a plug in
tail which charged it while you used it but if you wanted to use it cordless
you just unplugged the tail.

My 'cordless' came with my Median PC.

I'm lucky if my batteries last more than 2 days. :-(

Just got my mouse out of the drawer. Surprise, surprise, the
batteries are flat! :-)
The original batteries in the cordless keyboard are still going stron
18 months on.
|
I have 8 rechargeable batteries on the go - 4 charged and 4 waiting to be
charged.
I am definately going to buy a mouse with a tail very soon but with
Christmas coming up I've let folks know that I'm *very* unhappy with my
present mouse so maybe Father Christmas will do a good deed! ;-)

Re-chargeables won't last nearly as long as good long-life batteries
such as Duracells will. Obviously, re-chargeables will work out cheaper
but there will always be a trade-off between cost and convenience.

I use an Intellimouse optical with four buttons and a wheel. No more
dirt on the ball or reaching for the keyboard for the back and forward
buttons. Mouse rests on my knee for comfort. Mine, not the mouse!

I have had one of these for about 8 months. I changed the batteries about
a month ago for the first time.
