Well! TH bans Noreen and suddenly the peasants are revolting.
Never mind the fact that that I was banned earlier and not one jot of
sympathy so that's it, no need for a ban I'm off!! And I'm taking my
football with me, so there!

What does "gee-ing up" mean?
Ali...
|
It comes from a command to a horse "gee-up", meaning move faster.
[17Century:origin unknown]
Gee-gee, meaning horse, comes from this expression.

To get someone going - does that make sense?
~~seadancer~~...
|
Yes, it does make sense, FN. Sort of like:
"getting someone's goat"... annoying them?
Do you have that "goat" expression in the UK?
And BTW, is it pronounced "jee-ing" or "gee-ing"?
Anita...
|
We do indeed have the expression "getting someone's goat".
It is pronounced "jee-ing"
|
JoeH...
|
It's jee-ing Sea.
