Anita...
I had the joy of 'playing' on it today - and it is great!

He has installed virtual Vista on there - it is a nice application, but

pmj...
Well, Vista isn't an "Application" as such!...
It's an "Operating System"! - Though it does come with a lot of
(Mini) "Applications" & Utilities.

& it Runs *in* an Application (called Parallels) on an Apple Mac
in a Window (or FullScreen) *within* the APple Mac OS X Operating
System!

Yes, it can get a bit Confuzzling, can't it?

just seems an upgrade of XP.

pmj...
& quite an elaborate/involved Upgrade...

If I was in the market for another laptop - I probably go for the mac.

pmj...
As I'm sure many more people will as well!

Jeff Gaines...
I've just posted in the Vista group asking if people might see the release
of Vista as a reason for switching to a Mac.

pmj...
Yep - I think they prolly will!

Only two of my apps work on Vista 'out of the box', a few run with some
tweaking, the rest just don't want to know.

pmj...
Yep - & if that's going to apply to a lot of Applications that people
want to use, (along with learning about the new Operating System) then
they may as well use a completely different (& in many ways better,
easier to use) Operating System altogether, such as Apple Mac OS X?

This could really be crunch time for MS I think.

Anita...
I asked him why he did not put XP on there - his reply was, vista is a
smoother application - it is certainly nice to look at, and easy to use.

pmj...
I dunno if it's going to matter to them all *that* much, cos many
thousands (& millions) of people all over the world (not just Private,
Home Users, but also Business/Corporate Users will just carry on using
whatever micro$oft offer them.

Jeff Gaines...
Even if it costs several hundred pounds to upgrade their apps?
