MCC...
Good morning each and every one from Cornwall where it is not very nice at

barb...
Morning all
Foggy here this morning and a bit cool
What my mum calls a back end potato picking morning :-)
Hope you are all feeling well
Enjoy your day, whatever you choose to do

jackie...
Good morning Barb, sunshine here again.
I have never heard that expression before !!! How is your Mum?

barb...
Seems to be progressing ok, though slowly. She is managing to walk
from her room to the dining room for meals and they have had her in the
kitchen making a cuppa so they may soon decide she is ready for home

all with freezing fog. Visibility is certainly less than 100 yards and the

Mike Clayton...
Good morning Mike and everyone. Not too bad a day here in West
Yorkshire. No frost, full visibility and not too cold. Having a day off
today, just a bit of shopping and pottering about.

temperature is +0.5°C.

Rabbit...
Been a very mild day here so far with no signs of the BYT going into hiding.
I took a detour this morning along the beach and was quite surprised at the
number of people doing likewise, even walking along the water's edge in
lightweight clothing. The sea was lovely and calm with the low BYT lighting
a ship on the water the water like a spotlight
Good afternoon one and all.

GrannieAnnie...
That sounds beautiful, the light on the water, did you get any photos?

Rabbit...
No piccies but I doubt if anything but a professions photographer could have
captured it just right. There is a view of Arran I've photographed many
times but it never turns out as awesome as it looks in RL :-(

biggeordie...
Good morning....and to everyone else....
It is a fine sunny moring here in Dublin.

~~Linda~~...
Afternoon people :-) It was very foggy here too this morning but turned
into another lovely sunny day.

Tickettyboo...

Oh what a beautiful morning !
Bright and sunny, though on the chilly side. Birdies are twittering (
singing much more in tune than I can manage)

~~Linda~~...
Well I think I'd rather listen to a Boo singing than that stoopid pigeon
that sits on our chimney, with its 'coo, coo' echoing down all day!!

pmj...
Oh!
So *that's* where he went then!!!
:-)

He must have flown over to your place!!!
Cos we normally have him "Cooo, Cooo, Coo"-ing away at the top of his
voice, monotonously & *incessantly* over here & I haven't heard him
for a while.

Tickettyboo...
oh I have his cousin on our chimney..that probably means we are related or
summat

~~Linda~~...
Well we're both mad, I'll bet lots would agree on that! I bet Mr Boo is
quite glad we're not 'actually' related (thinks airport) hehe

Hello btw, thought I'd pop in and see what's been happening in Ups lately.
:-)

Rabbit...
Well hello there stranger, lovely to see you in Upsland again.

~~Linda~~...
If I can get hold of it, it'll be returned to pmj territory in a cardboard
box!!

Hope all are well today - if you aren't, get better soon!

~~Linda~~...
Getting there :-)

Tickettyboo...
atta girl!

Oh I can proudly announce that I finally have wall cuboards as well as
base
ones in the kitchen. LOL they aint all got doors yet, but they were
assembled by yours truly on Friday and Bodgit and Scarper put them up on
Sat ( and so far they haven't fallen down again!)

~~Linda~~...
And neither, I hope, have you?!!! Tch, you should be banned from going up
on anything higher than a foot off the ground. How are your bruised ribs?

Just and new door into the room , tiling to do now and the cooker hood to

Jackie...

Its going to look very nice Boo, what colour were you thinking of
having?

go up and it will be finished - ish :-)

Tickettyboo...
Getting betterer ta, and I have been doing stuff at floor level today,
even I can't fall off the floor - I think ... :-)

~~Linda~~...
Ooh I dunno, I seem to remember a pretty spectacular 'slide' on a steep
hillside lol. You started with your feet at floor level but ended up on
yer... er.... lol.

Spent hours yesterday looking for wall tiles that a) I like and b) I don't
have to part with a number of limbs to purchase. No success yet.

Foxy at w*rk...
Looking good Boo :-)

Tickettyboo...
Ta, I am pleased with what we have done so far. Geting a bit worried
though, apparently there is some expectation that I will actually cook in

Parrotfish...
...... Good grief, doesn't the man realise that
the heat and condensation could wilt your ribbons ?

Tickettyboo...
LOL and I am wearing my best ones too!

it!

Foxy at w*rk...
lol Nahhhhh never. You leave that sort of thing to the fellas. They are
*much* better at cheffing than we are ;-)

Pam the goose...
Oh, thanks so much for that, Jen, I never looked at it that way before!

Mike Clayton...
Thank, Jen. Don't w*rk too hard.

Yes, Ray, you can do all the cooking cos men make much better chefs:)))

Aries...
My man doesn't :( I'm head cook and bottle washer here, except for the
dishwasher that is lol

Pam the goose...

Foxy at w*rk...
Well my Dave does 90% of the cooking Pam. He's much more imaginative than I
am. Mind you I get the clearing up to do

Pam the goose...
My Ray has done 100% of the cooking since my bleeding brain and it was
something I really had to come to terms with because I was brought up to
believe that was the wife's responsibility.

But, like you, I am left to do the clearing up - he does actually put all
the things he's used into a pretty pile in the sink though, ready for me to
wash them!
Just don't have a bleeding brain, Val, cos that changes a lot of things!
Amazing, isn't it, that in both male and female a bleeding brain is quite
likely to leave the patient with an inability to cope with cooking. I wish
they had told me that earlier so I didn't agonise every day over not being
able to do it!

Pam the goose...

Foxy at w*rk...
Oh I think a dish washer is in order Pam lol

Pam the goose...
I don't think I'd cope with one!
Anyway, it'd have to be a little un cos we don't use much crockery etc.
I'd rather spend the money on eating out at our nice little pub:))
Oh, yes, that's going to look lovely!

Mind you, I'm not too keen on the wall decoration so keep hunting for tiles,
it will definitely look better if you can find some:)
If you happen to be in the right place at the right time the ones you like
can be there at a pleasing price. If not it's definitely an arm and leg job.
Don't give up:)

~~Linda~~...
Ooh, do I spy cookery books? Getting ready to cook up some Gordon Blue
meals? Looking good though, I like the units :-)

Tickettyboo...
This is Boo dearie, more Gordon Bennet than Gordon Blue

Tickettyboo...
Pleased to hear it, all this is down to you - if it wasn't for a new clock
.... LOL !

~~Linda~~...
Ooh er, I'd better not buy you a rug for your bedroom then

Rabbit...
Looking good, though I'm sure some tiles will be the icing on the cake.

jamps...
Looking good Boo. I hope you soon find the tiles that you like.

MCC...
The handles on your units look very similar to ours - I admire your taste

pmj...
LOL!!!
When I looked at that Pic of Boo's Cabinets in her Kitchen, my first
thought was that it looked like she had a *Sideboard* in there!
- Under the Worktop!!!
:-)

pmj...
Ah. now *those* ones (the Cupboards) don't look so much like

Tickettyboo...
You think? Mr Boo seems to be veering towards just not doign any more and
telling people its the latest fashion!

Rabbit...
And why not, there are TV programmes which do that, just like the Emperor's
New Clothes :-)

Tickettyboo...
I wont, have another couple of places to try later in the week. So far its
not cost too much cos we have done it ourselves and I want to stay within
the budget I set originally. Next job is the lounge so I need to keep some
pennies in the bank for that.

a Sideboard.
:-)

MCC...
Once the panels that fit along the bottom of the cupboards have been fitted
- they clip on to the legs - perhaps you'll think the units look better.
They'll also stop the peas from rolling under there and getting lost :-)

Rabbit...
Why is there always a pea under the fridge or microwave, even if you never
have peas in the house ??? :-)

Maybe a Garden gate?
But not a Sideboard.
:-)

MCC...
SWMBO will not thank you when I tell her you think her kitchen units look
like a garden gate. Prepare to face her wrath

BTW - As you can prolly tell, I'm not much of a person for following
fashion (or being aware of the latest "fads") in Kitchens!
:-)

MCC...
Really? :-)

The place we got them from let us 'pick and mix' to our hearts' content.
We're very happy with them. The tiling was done by our son and I did the
grouting. It's the detail in the finish that makes all the difference

Aries...
So far so good Boo :) Good luck with the tiles :)

Hope all poorlies are well on the road to recovery.

jamps...
Good morning to you all.
Looks like another lovely day weatherwise here in Leicestershire.
No overnight frost so it's fairly warm now.

Hoping that all the poorlies are on the mend.

biggeordie...
Ditto.

~~Linda~~...
Yup... agreed. Too many poorlies lately, I think there should be a
Worldwide Get Well Day!!

Have a good day.

noreen...
Morning Mike and all nice morning after the awful night with the fireworks
hope its all finished now , it was very bad .

My thoughts with the poorlies too ;-))

Aries...
morning Mike and everyone logging on. We have foggy weather too but no
frost, even a struggling ray of sun trying to poke its head thro lol

Thinking of all unwellies here, remembering Len today as he takes his
second isotope procedure this morning.

jackie...
Good morning Mike, your fog does not sound nice, we have nice sunshine
again.
Could not see any frost out there.

noreen...
Morning Jackie looks nice but frosty !! yesterday was like this but it came
really cold and blustery .

Hope you keep have a good day ;-))))

Jackie...
Been out Ch****mas shopping today, usually quieter on Mondays, we have
so many to get things for.
Had a good day, some prices off in BHS and 20% off in their restaurant
for buying goods in there, and
bargains in other shops too.

biggeordie...
Have a nice day everyone.

Aries...
Hi Geordie - hope you and family are keeping well - welcome back from
Ireland :)

~~Linda~~...
Thankyou... mine has been rather good so far :-)

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
Aye up lass!!! Owz tha diddlin' ?

~~Linda~~...
Not up to diddlin' much but the diddlin' I'm doin' is good, iyswim ;-)

Rabbit...
Any particular reason ?

~~Linda~~...
Yes and no ;-) Getting stuff done that I've not done recently and spending
time this afternoon with a good friend... simple things but enjoyable :-)

Old Grizzly...
Hi Lin
sorry to hear you are/have been poorly and these Virul things do drag
you down and also can be a problem to get over but stick with it and it
will come good ....take care ;-)

~~Linda~~...
Thanks Grizzly :-) (Although I'm not sure if you're muddling me with
another 'Lin' - I'm the gardening one lol

jackie...
Good morning Val, clear weather here and sunshine.
I will be thinking of Len today and wishing him well.

MCC...

Foxy at w*rk...
Morning Mike and all. We must have the good weather here then. It's a lovely

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
Yep bright, shiny, dry, bit chilly and quite gusty here today.

day so far

Foxy at w*rk...
Your tiles similar to mine Mike
Mrs Wobbly Bits! Lovely to see you again. How are you and yours?

~~Linda~~...
Hi Mike. Thankyou. We're doing ok...

Enjoying this lovely autumn weather? I'll bet your gardens have never

~~Linda~~...
Yep! Most days I've been walking three to four miles and just enjoying the
sun and the clear blue skies.

looked so good :-)

~~Linda~~...
Erm, no... they're looking pretty neglected at the moment, I'm sad to say.
I've been unable to garden/work since about July, due to an, as yet,
unindentified cause (Doc says probably a viral infection) that at the worst
point, left me barely able to grip a pencil, let alone a pair of shears.
Have been through lots of different meds and treatment and now MUCH better,
I can actually type again but still find using the mouse quite painful and
not allowed to do more than a quick potter in the greenhouse.
On the plus side, I've read a lot of books this summer/autumn :-) Also,
made a lot of lists of things that need doing!!

MCC...
I'm so sorry to read that you have been proper poorly, but happy that you
seem to be on the mend now. These viral infections can really knock you
sideways. I know someone who had ME and that really laid her low.

Have a hug if it's not too painful :-) {{{{{~~Linda~~}}}}

Jackie...
I am sorry you have been so poorly ~~Linda~~ nasty things these viral
infections, I had one that affected my hearing
so I am almost completely deaf in one ear and have tinnitis - no chance
of it getting any better.!!
I do hope you get better soon.

~~Linda~~...
Thanks Jackie. The worst thing has been keeping occupied and dealing with

Rabbit...
Oh dear, get well soon ~~ Linda~~

~~Linda~~...
Thanks Rabbit :-)

the frustration of not being able to do normal everyday things, like
holding a knife or a cup without dropping it. I am *much* better now, so am
just trying to get back to doing as much as possible, without overdoing it.
Sorry about your tinnitus, my father suffers from that and it sounds
as though it is very wearing. :-(

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
That doesn't sound too good ~~Linda~~. Hope they can get it sorted out
quickly for you. Mind you I need artificial aid help to open brand ne
marmalade jars these days. Just can't seem to grip that hard these days.
Even worse are those screw tops on bottles of wine. Don't think it's

~~Linda~~...
Lol, tell me about it... and why do they make the tops on milk cartons SO
impossible to get off. One day, I was trying to pull the top off, knocked
the milk all over the worktop, sent the mug crashing on to the floor and
the coffee jar into the sink... I could have cried, 'cos I had to start all
over again and do all the clearing up!

Arfur-Itis but may be. Not that I do a lot of gardenig, but when I do the

~~Linda~~...
Blood tests say it isn't Arthritis but seeing a Rheumatologist in a couple
of weeks to try and find out more.

old knuckles seem to seize up a bit, especially in cold weather.

~~Linda~~...
The doctor reckons the bits that were worst affected, ie my fingers,
wrists, hips, shoulders and knees, were the bits that have been 'abused' by
many years of gardening and prior to that, as I worked with
children/babies, carrying them and spending time crawling around on hands
and knees (as one does, lol)

Aries...
Oh dear poor you Linda, sorry to hear that :( Hopefully you are on the
mend now ? Lovely to see your name popping up again BTW :)

~~Linda~~...
Thanks Val, I have tried looking in every now and again but avoiding being
tempted to start replying... you know what it's like, one reply leads to
another and my hands would have been really sore, so better to keep pc off
most of the time, lol. Trying to catch up with 'owed' mail and stuff

Aries...
take care then Linda and wish you fully recovered very soon ((hugs))

gradually now.

Pam the goose...

Foxy at w*rk...
Oh that's sensible :-) I like eating out too

Pam the goose...
Right, that's sorted.
I can tell Ray I'm being sensible every time I ask to go to the pub:))
Oh, poor ~~Linda~~ :(
Get well soon, girl, there's nothing like not being able to cope with your
usual life.

~~Linda~~...
Thanks Pam. Nothing like what you've been through but it makes you think
how you normally take things for granted.
