Had a lovely afternoon!!

some of you may remember that a few weeks ago I volunteered to talk to
children about
my memories of the war years. I thoroughly enjoyed it , the children asked
some great questions which triggered off memories .

It was amazing how when they asked me about blackout and stuff like that it
all came tumbling back ;-)))

Well today we were invited to an exhibition of war memorabelia and the
children had done some
wonderful work, based on what we told them. It was great it was the opening

Sounds wonderful. Eldest granddaughter has been learning about WW2. They are
doing a wartime Christmas for their play. She would have loved your
afternoon.

of the exibition ,and it will run for about 4weeks. We were able to see our
selves on a big screen whilst we were talking to the children,that was a
laugh. The Evening Courier photographer was there so we are going to be in
the paper it seems.
It was a huge success children put plays on to depict the war. We also had 2
men who tour as ENSA in uniform ,they were brilliant, sang all the 40s songs
and played ukelele and some backing music but had mike's from early years of
the war, so altogether a great afternoon , oh and my DIL came with me and

Well that's a new excuse for what goes on in the bike sheds :-) I thought

Oh I did Sandra, very nostalgic at times. But one of the best things were
some of the letters the children had written about me and the other ladies
they were brilliant, seems they took in everything we told them -- oh and

You must have had a good time, Noreen - seeing the children's faces as you

They also took videos of us whilst we were talking to the children,and were
on a big screen wasn't too bad till i could hear my own voice;-( but it was
a good laugh ;-)))))
