jamps...
My grand-daughter is getting married in Somerset on April 29th.
She is hoping for a 'low key' not too expensive wedding ;-)

She has asked for any ideas for the flowers on the tables for the wedding
breakfast.
Instead of fresh flowers (which eventually die) she would like ideas for
living pretty flower plants (suitably decorated) on each of the 8 round
tables. These can then be taken by guests for planting in their gardens as
a memento of the occasion.

It's a lovely idea but I'm wondering which flowering plants will be around
at that time.

Any ideas folks?

I like that idea, Jamps.
How about primulas or pansies? - they seem to be in bloom all year round
now. And they ain't expensive ;-)

Thank you Mike. They would be pretty but I wonder if they would be past
their best by the end of April? The date is at the end of the spring
flowers but too soon for the summer ones.

Bluebells? Nice perfume and doing the right thing for conservation.
Appropriate but only much use if you can get small plants

At my niece's wedding, disposable cameras were placed on each table for the
guests to take photos of each other for the bride and groom to keep. One

That's another nice idea too but I think that these days most people have
their own cameras.

camera was left in the pocket of a hired morning dress suit. It was kindly
returned by Moss Bros :-)

I also provided the official photographer with a lot of slides of my niece
as a toddler and while growing up. He very cleverly edited the wedding
video with these slides used as 'fillers' between different scenes.
