Can any one help please? I am looking for a film director whose first name
is John or any connotation of. His Surname has 10 letters. I have tried
looking up John, Johnny, Jonathon, Jean and have had no success.

Hope it works for you - he used to be a film actor - do you remember?
Usually took the part of a villain - was good, but did not make a lot of
'A' films

Just looked him up and realised who he is. I can remember him in a Columbo
Episode about a conducter.

Yes he did a lot of work in tv series - but did do some films too. Was
in a lot of the Burke's Law series - oh I did like Gene Barry - so suave
and dashing :)
