A friend in another group is complaining that her alert meter is going
bonkers, registering hits up in the 60k range... Anyone else had this
problem and is there a cure??

Well that shows it's doing it's job, doesn't it. You can set ZA not to
show the alerts.
Goto ZA Control panel - select Alerts & Logs - Main Tab and and set tio
'Off' - It will then say 'Do not show any information alerts'
ZA will still be blocking them but not disturbing the user.

She knows that but it isn't a solution to her fears...

Wwll the log is still there so she can look at that occasionally if she
really wants to scare hrself. You can't stop them trying to get at you -
just keep the door locked and bolted. That's whar ZA does. I now have a
Safecom router with it's own F/W. That seems to prevent almost everthing
getting as far the ZA in my system. When I check out my emergency dial up
connections, which obviously don't go through the router ZA usually goes
berserk with the traffic trying to get through, so a router would add to
peace her of mind.

Essentially. I no longer trust ZA on my systems and don't recommend it=20
any more after several issues on various platforms.

At least ZA is doing it's job, there really is not much else you can
do, not whilst staying connected anyway.

The only cure will be the end of the school holidays I fear.
