Would you like to give me some feedback please now on how the amended web
Does 50 appear side by side?
Brickbats accepted, just don't throw them too hard :-)
Bram...
I'm using a fully updated IE 6 and I'm still just getting two little red
crosses. Not nice for a vampire
:-(
Jeff Gaines...
I get a blank space between 2 rotating hearts in Konqueror and 2
'puzzle' boxes in Epiphany. I'd be interested to know what plugin you
Rabbit...
Oh you know what you can do with your Epiphany and Konqueror :-P
Jeff Gaines...
I hope you're not planning to put that tongue back in your mouth :-)
If it's Shockwave there is no Linux plugin, I'm not sure that's a bad thing!
used, although ATM I have absolutely no idea how to install plugins :-)
pmj...
pmj...
Oh?
I understood that there *is* a Linux Plug-in for Shockwave Flash?
Isn't that the reason that Macromedia reckon that it is the worlds
most widely available Format for adding stuff into Web Pages? -
It's available for windoze Mac & Linux.
Jeff Gaines...
Not according to:
I have no idea what the difference is between Macromedia Flash and
Shockwave, if a web page doesn't work with a standard browser then I
tend to use the bits of it that do work or ignore it :-)
pmj...
Ah...
So a .DCR File, with a MIME Type of "application/x-director" which
is a Macromedia ShockWave "Director" File is different from (& thus
needs a different Plug-in from) the ordinary Macromedia ShockWave
"Flash" (.SWF) stuff then?
& it seems that windoze comes with both, but not Linux.
Have you had a look at the Link the included at the bottom
of that Page?
They say that Page only lists the most popular/common Plug-ins -
others are also available.
I dunno why Sandra used a .dcr (Director) File.
Maybe she could ReSave the thing as (or Convert it to) a normal
.SWF File?
Jeff Gaines...
Learning, playing, having fun, rabbiting around :-)
Rabbit...
Yes, that's wot I want to do with my pooter, particularly the fun bit :-)
Good for the Rabbit I say!!!
Rabbit...
Thank you. If I had never tried something new I'd still be sending one email
to one person in America. It's all I thought I could do when I bought my
first machine.
It seems silly using something like a .DCR File, when the same
effect could be done using .SWF (Flash) & that would mean virtually
everybody could see it.
Wrinklie One =?iso-8859-1?Q?=A9?=...
We were bound by what the author published, some are Director files .dir
but displayed as .dcr files but he/she also make some in gif format..
Have a look for yourself
Jeff Gaines...
I think it's quite neat coming up with something that only some people
can see, good secret squirrel stuff :-)
Rabbit...
Next week I'll show you genuine photos of Nessie ;-)
Ali...
I'm sure the photos will be genuine. But what about Nessie? :^)
Jeff Gaines...
Oh ye of little faith :-)
I had a boating holiday on Loch Ness, her snorting kept me awake all
night!
& they reckon that over 98 percent of Browsers can handle it.
pmj...
Rabbit...
Oh they are nicked plug ine :-)
Tyke...
Spot on in my Firefox Downunder Sandra :-)
Wally...
Looks good here Sandra
Wally...
Sorry Sandra just read the header and I don't think
I count, I'm on IE.
Rabbit...
Thanks anyway Wally but the original seemed to be showing OK in IE, at least
nobody said otherwise :-)
Bram...
I did. I just got red crosses :-(
MCC...
Have you got Shockwave/Flash installed, Bram? I think you need Shockwave to
see the 50.
Tickettyboo...
did you allow active x and plug ins to run? You may have them blocked or
be set to prompt and said no.
The pics were shockwave flash files
Rabbit...
Do you allow ActiveX ? You need it to see them.
Bram...
yep Boo and sandra! Enabled.
Rabbit...
And this is IE ? You'll just need to accept that you are unique amongst IE
users :-)

MCC...
As I said in your other thread, it looks perfect in my version of Firefox
1.5. But now I'd like to qualify that and say that there is a thin white
Rabbit...
A picture spoke a thousand words.
underline beneath the 50 in Firefox which doesn't appear in IE. But
certainly the numbers are now side by side.
Graham...
The white lines show in Opera too.
JoeH...
Oh so there is :-(
MCC...
Never noticed that until pmj mentioned it, so you can blame him. :-)
Rabbit...
Oh I do, if he ever gets to Heaven I'm sure he'll find something wrong with
the Pearly Gates, probably have St Peter completely reinstall them :-)
There is a very thin white line running round *all* of the top frame or
layer or cell or whatever you want to call it, in Firefox but it isn't
there in IE.
And it's still there when I go straight to your hosting page at
thingymajig.plus.com with Firefox but again not in IE.
Rabbit...
Just pretend it was meant to be there :-) If it's there in that one I
suspect it's been on every page I've made in the last two years but nobody
noticed and if you can only see it in Firefox that throws pmj's change the
addy out the window.
I bet you wish you had never started this ;-)
Rabbit...
Well most of it was a learning experience 'cos it was a new style with a new
file and I wanted to sort it as best I could. I just hope that the whole
thing hasn't put other people off trying something new. It didn't bother me
trying to sort it, I asked for help, advice and criticism but I've learned
and I've done all I think I can do now, till the next time I decide to try
something new :-) You can't please all of the people all of the time and all
that :-)

Aries...
jbexs perfectly in Avant Sandra
Rabbit...
Phew!!!!! Just as a matter of curiosity was the original OK in Avant too ?
Aries...
just checked - yep :)
Rabbit...
Ta so that's one less browser to worry about. Mind you by the time I've
fiddled we who saw the original OK might not :-(
JoeH...
I'm with you, mine a nice dry Muscadet. :-)
Rabbit...
Oh if you like dry I don't need to share my sweet white :-)
MCC...
Yes, cleared my cache. Before the 5 and 0 appear there's a white rectangle
where they are going to go. Maybe if that was given a black background,
that might help.
MCC...

Glass under the modem ready, but not if it's wine. Irn Bru, Vimto or whisky
only :-))
Rabbit...
Can of Irn Bru on it's way. Oops sowwy Mike you should have ducked quicker
:-)
