could get basic Sky package, + 8Mb BB and still save on my current BB cost.

I have registered my interest BoyPete but it is not in our area either, we
have sky TV here so could get BB for free - so it says!!

I presume you've checked that it's available in your area. I know two
people about 250 miles apart who wanted the free package and both were told
it isn't available in their areas, but they can have broadband through Sky
for £17-99 per month..
