Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
Well into the 80s again right now. :)

Old Grizzly...
here its 86 in the kitchen and it never gets the sun either :)

Tyke...
I've got the fire roaring here in Adelaide.

12c and a very nice bottle of red ;-)

Mrs Tyke is in for a suprise when she arrives on Weds.
She is not used to humidity at all now!

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
Yep! my dinner's almost cooked too.

Tyke...
What?
Just with the ambient temp?

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
Well I suppose that will have helped in cutting downthe amount of gas I
needed to burn to cook it. :)

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
Yep! About that in my kitchen too, and it's on the NW corner of the
house, so doesn't get any sun 'til late afternoon/early evening. Mind you
having the oven on doesn't help, although doors are open and extrator fan
is pulling the air through.

Old Grizzly...
yes! i should have said that there are no heat producing activities in
that Kitchen and no fans etc but the window is open but there is no
breeze

Graham...
We've got 88F.

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
Is it a competition then?
If so, we all know who and where will win, don't we? :)

JerryAtrick...
"Sweaty Betty's" salt tablets going cheap - surplus to requirements!

look...
Thunder & Lightning here
Computer just rebooted & lights went out :-(

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
It's been forecast for here later, but at the moment it's walter and BYT -
not a WFT or GFT it sight.

Pam the goose...
Don't know what the forecast is for here but it certainly looks and feels as
though funder & frightening is building up. Sun's still there but the GFTs
to the north of us are definitely grey and have lost their fluff. I guess
north of us is having some wet stuff.

look...
I'll sample your cake later ;-)

Jeff Gaines...
You're a scientist FN, how about some tips on keeping cool?

I've trimmed the mutt to help him and I'll get a haircut on Tuesday but
what can I do to get the bungalow cool?

I've opened the windows on the shady side, drawn the curtains on the sunny
side, turned on the extractor fan in the study, anything else?

I'm really tempted to go for air conditioning at least in the bedroom but
it's not very environmentally friendly is it?

Graham...
Last year we bought a portable a/c unit, this one:

It is very efficient, cooling wise, energy wise, probably not. We
only use it on the very hottest of days, in the early evening to give
us some respite from the heat. In terms of comfort it was money well
spent.

Jeff Gaines...
Thanks, Graham, I am going to seriously think about that :-)

MCC...
Have you got at least 12 inches of insulation in your loft? Have you got
cavity walls? If so, are they insulated? All helps to keep you warm in
winter and cool in summer.
The bungalow I lived in in Shetland had netting fixed to the undersides of
the floor joists at the construction stage and then insulation had been
laid between the joists on the netting - it all helps.

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
You can get pedestal and desk top fans pretty cheap these days Jeff

Jeff Gaines...
I wanted a scientific solution, I could borrow pmj's butler to fan me with

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
Not if my Weather Watcher's reported temperature from Maidstone is correct
you couldn't. Anyway how come using a stream of air to increase the sweat
evaporation rate to produce extra body cooling not scientific?

the Sunday Times!!!

Anita...
Phew - well over that here :(
It is 88 in here with 2 fans going - must be well over 30 out in the
garden - and I do not take any notice of the temperatures they issue on
the forecast ;))

Wrinklie One =?iso-8859-1?Q?=A9?=...

Old Grizzly...

Wrinklie One =?iso-8859-1?Q?=A9?=...
Just after typing that the HDD thermometer reported overheating and
closed the system down

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
Mines running at 29°C with the cpu at 59° right now.

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
I was worried that you were about to boil WO. Thanks for clarifying that.
:)
