Now I'd have included this with the last repair update if
I'd known about it.
Paul Jeffree...
|
Good one Pam. Now it's nearly lunch time.....
:-)
Pam the goose...
|
It is indeed Paul and while Ray's out walking the dog I have
sneaked to the fridge and got a slice of beef cos I'm well
and truly ready for food! Me eating meat voluntarily is a
real new one:)
|
|
Let's start with how I found out the repair had happened:-
Jackie...
|
he!he! so pleased for you Pam - your repairs and making me appreciate more
the things you missed!
Pam the goose...
|
What is so odd about the situation, Jackie, is that although
I knew I had no taste I honestly couldn't remember what
taste was or how anything *should* taste! Tonight when I
recognised that chip as having a taste of potato it was the
first time for years I had known what potato tasted like yet
I knew immediately that it *was* a potato taste.
Isn't the brain a wonderful, but at times frustrating thing?

Great news Pam reading about the repairs you have made during the time I
have been away.
I like to hear these little snippets. So pleased for you about the
taste thingy must make mealtimes much more interesting
Pam the goose...
|
*Very* much more interesting, Barb:)
I had a drink of chocolate and a blackcurrant cake at the MW
service station on the way home last night.
The chocolate was great but the cake? I could taste the
sponge wasn't properly cooked and had to really look to see
if I was just imagining it! It wasn't imagination so I just
ate the outsides that *were* cooked and they were lovely:)
Last week I would have just ploughed through it without
noticing!
|
|
We've just been to the pub for a meal. Well, Ray's been out
most of the day giving a talk on S&R somewhere so I didn't
think it fair to let him make the evening meal.
John the R-T...
|
Keep it up Pam. You'll be running the marathon next. :-)
|
I had fish and chips and got a shock when I put the first
chip in my mouth and it tasted of potato! Followed it with a
forkful of peas and they tasted like peas! Followed that
with a forkful of fish in batter and - I think you know what
I'm going to say - I could taste the fish and taste the
batter!
By the time I'd got to that point I was on seventh Heaven
and told Ray my taste had at last come back.

That sounds wonderful Pam. I bet at the moment even school dinners would

ROFL
Yes, I think you have a point!
I grew up on them, it's a good job I wasn't really
interested in food, as far as I have been concerned it was
just to stop me feeling hungry.
Wow, times have changed for me today:)
|
taste good. :)

Tickettyboo...

Whey hey!!!!
Pam the goose...
|
ROFL
If I remember I'll have to pack some:))

So we followed the main meal with a pud - I chose 3 flavours
of ice cream cos I was getting interested in this taste
returning bit. I had coconut, chocolate chip and chocolate.
And no matter what I put in my mouth I could tell by the
taste what flavour it was.
Oh, the joys of being able to taste again! It was only the
Rabbit...
|
I do hope that's nothing to do with your favourite eating place up here
Pam the goose...
|
I'll never know if their meals were tasty now:(
Rabbit...
|
Yeah but you will be able to taste the new soppa doopa menu and admire the
view you like. Just arrange a second mortgage before you come :-)
Pam the goose...
|
Hey, hang on, I only want to be the me I should have been by
now!
Capable of looking after myself and my house is all I aim
for, just that'd do me:))
|
Pam the goose...
|
We'll get butties from ASDA and park on the prom outside the
new place. That'll do:)
Rabbit...
|
That's an idea or we could park in their new soopa doopa car park just to
Pam the goose...
prove a point :-)

closing down ;-)
|
JoeH...
|
Wey hey, you're certainly on a roll Pam. :))
Pam the goose...
|
ROFL
I seem to be, don't I?
|
|
other day I was telling Seadancer that my sense of taste has
gone and, here I am, without any warning, telling you it's
back as though it was never gone!
Aries...
|
I'm so pleased for you Pam. I can't imagine what it must have been like not
have any feeling of taste! Now tell me, what is your favourite remembered
taste and will you be tasting it soon :)
Pam the goose...
|
Hang on for the answer to that till my rememberer gets
better! I honestly cannot remember what tastes like what.
Ice cream has never been a favourite of mine since
childhood, and I didn't have it often then. But I really
think I have got back better taste than I had because those
three ice creams each had a particular flavour and the
flavours were strong - well, strong to how I remember ice
cream!
Aries...
|
How's about chocolate - see if your taste buds remember that, and if not
get Ray to buy you some as now you have your taste back you're in for a
treat, ask Splodge - Mmmmmmmmmm :)
Pam the goose...
|
Hey, whose side are you on?
Remember the low-fat diet that Rabbit put me on? It stopped
the gall stones hurting and I've got really used to it.
Chocolate is in the banned foods!
Actually, I spent my teens eating chocolate galore, I loved
it. Some of my friends couldn't eat even a quarter as much
as I did without putting on weight, but I never put an ounce
on with it.
But I'm taking no chances, those gall stones HURT :(
Aries...
|
Oh sorry Pam, naughty me, I'd forgotten for a moment about your low fat
diet :(
|
|
|
|
|
Ponder...
|
Leaps and bounds Pam, leaps and bounds :-)
|
Bram...
|
Glad you are getting your just desserts Pam..
Pam the goose...
;-)
I think I'd better hug you while I can still get my arms around you.
Pam the goose...
|
I'll take any amount of hugs, you know that:)
|
|
It's a good job my ability to feel hungry/full returned
before the taste did cos if I didn't feel full from that
meal I'd be out raiding the kitchen for things to taste:))
So, there you are, even after 3 years and 3 months
*important* things are happening in the way of repair. I'm
chuffed to NAAFI breaks:))))
Anita Carter...
|
That is good news indeed, Pam :)
Now keep right on to the end of the road :)))
Pam the goose...
|
Hmmm, yes, though the way be long let your heart be strong.
Yes, I'll keep trying:)
Anita Carter...
|
|
noreen...
|
That is incredible Pam !!! just incredible ;-)))))))
Pam the goose...
|
It really is, Noreen:)
I didn't think I'd ever get it back.
And so much for that first doctor who said what I hadn't got
back after 2 years would stay missing!
noreen...
|
You have certainly proved him wrong ;-)))))
|
Tickettyboo...
|
Doctors ! They only know about physical stuff, they should take the power
of love and good thoughts and prayers and stuff into account and find out
how much of a difference they can make :-)
Pam the goose...
|
I have to agree with you, boo, cos that's what I've
experienced:)
I couldn't have done these repairs on my own.
|
|
|
|
Rabbit...
|
And so you should be, good news, nay great news.
|
Linedancer...
|
That's great news Pam, you must be really thrilled, another milestone marked
off :-)
Pam the goose...
|
It is, isn't it Pat?
You put up with lack of taste during a cold but the worst of
it only lasts a day or two. And, believe me, it's nothing
like the *total* absence of taste!
|
|
~~seadancer~~...
|
Pam,
I'm so happy to hear your good news!
What an amazing recovery!
The brain is a mysterious thing.
You must be thrilled!
Pam the goose...
|
Thanks, Sea:)
I'm still revelling in the fact that I can taste I've got
milk on my breakfast cereal - it uses to be a sort of thick
water to me!
In fact everything is a joy to my taste buds and I look
forward to meal times today:)
