to 8mbs is due to take place in August - so they have said in an email
received from them:)
Steve...
|
Hi Anita, what does it say as Im on the Tiscali MaxDSL trial at the moment.
Anita...
|
How are you finding it, Steve ?
Anita...
|
High speed up to 8Mb broadband coming soon!
Great news! Our new £17.99 high speed broadband product 'Tiscali Max
Unlimited' will be available to Tiscali customers in August. Download
speeds on this product will be the maximum your line can reliably
support up to 8Mb. This will depend on the quality of your line and
distance from exchange. We are currently undertaking significant
re-grade work on customer lines to enable them for these higher
broadband speeds. This large amount of re-grade work is the reason for
the short delay from the product being launched on the site to it being
available for existing customers. We'll email you in August as soon as
the product is ready for you to upgrade to.
In the meantime you can pre-register your interest so we can prioritise
and prepare your line for Tiscali Max Unlimited.

LOL
That's rather a personal question !
Steve...
|
Ohh you mean the MaxDSL ;o))))))
Anita...
|
As if you didn't know ;)))))
|
Bit of a cafuffle at first, speeds all over the place lose of sync. It's
now settled down to a steady 6.5 or 7.0M. I'm lucky only live about 400m
Anita...
|
I have been reading about it in the forums - if you have a steady 6.5 or
7.0 you are doing well. How much longer are you on the trial for?
I am in London - so will be interesting to see what happens here too :)
Steve...
|
Yes I am doing well, apparently it's all to do with somebody's BRA's !!!

There is no set date for the end of the trials, we get a whoosh test
once a week, send in our own speed test results and router logs. I think
the trial period will just meld into a normal line come August. I think
the biggest problem they have at the moment is the fact that BT have
just announced that there 'Bulk Regrade Tool' has a glitch and they have
stopped ISP's from using it until the problems are resolved. Might mean
pushing the upgrade dates back by a couple of weeks.

I've heard that BT gave just 20 mins notice before banning all ISPs
Anita...
|
Yep - will keep you on your toes soon ;))
|
from upgrading until further notice because BT can't cope.
Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
|
Nothing new there then. :)
Anita...
|
Trust BT - it is there way of getting out of most things - blame their
tools !
Steve...
|
I thought it was women who blamed men's tools?
Anita...
|
No, it is usually the men that cannot achieve the use of their tools as
they are meant to be used.
(only have to watch the workmen digging holes in the road to see that -
;)
|
|
Does that mean that come August or so - you will be paying the same as
us ordinary mortals? Or are the community geeks being generous ?
somehow I can't imagine it being so lol :)
Steve...
|
Alas I am just a poor mortal like yourself, who has a wonderful grandson
that has brought the real world flooding back into his house.
Anita...
|
Yes, being a grandmother of 2 wonderful grandsons and 1 beautiful
granddaughter - I can understand your sentiments ;)
