Have you read where Carphone warehouse are refusing to sign up over 70's
to their BB service cos they don't think we would understand the
contract???
(They have to be accompanied by a younger person to explain it)

i shant give them my business then LOL ....In Maplins the other day a
young salesman spoke very slow to tell me that high resolution used in
games needs a good graphics card to process ALL that work and that would
probably only need a basic card for word processing. HeHeHe i drew

Now, why would he assume that a retired person would be word processing,
rather than image processing, or indeed playing high res games?

myself upto a full height and said *young Man* i was using computers
before even your mum was born LOL (true or not i wouldnt know of course)
but i did enjoy it :-)

I'm afraid many young people just don't realise how long computers have been
around. (I'll have owned one for 26 years sometime this month; they've been
commercially available for 56 years; and a discussion on this subject in
another group ended with the man whose business card read "BABBAGE ENGINE
WORKS - Computing solutions since 1822")

What did you start with? I went the Vic 20, BBC B, BBC Master route.

Mine was an Atari 400 with tape storage next was the 800 with 5.5
floppies then an Amiga (can't remember first model) then a 130 SE and
then an A1200 preceded my first custom built PC.. Oh happy days
