Bigbazza...
Well..She arrived here this morning (from Canberra).....

I noticed that a British tourist has commented about 'Jumping' Prince
Charles and offering the Crown to William .(I presume of course that he
means after the Queen's passing )

Of course..That would be impossible to just 'jump the queue..even if William
or others wanted it...He is a decent young fellow..but I hope he has plenty
of time to himself first before ever assuming that office !.... Maturity
would help..and he certainly already is showing it !... The Queen was only
25 when she had the heavy burden placed upon her !

I was one of zillions at Trafalgar Square on coronation day. She
was a pretty young woman. God what a great time in my life those
days were. Thanks for the memories, Barry.

I watched it on a neighbours telly, we couldn't afford one !!! there was
about twenty other neighbours in as well.

Ali...
So did I. But it wasn't until the repeat in 1977 that I realised what I had
seen.

I watched it on our brand new 12" Cossor B/W TV/Radio combo. All the street
came in to watch too. I must admit that at that age I preferred Hopalong

Bigbazza...
I used to be given money to go down every Saturday morning in the 40's to
see 'Hopalong's' movies ...Yet I can't stand westerns anymore..I used to
love them as a Kid !...I remember ..Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, ..I also
remember one of the characters from ?? western movie..'Gabby'...He was an
old bloke...Probably like Old Grizzly.. :-)) For get where from..he used to
'chew' tobacco and spit it out and was quite a funny' character !....

MCC...
Gabby Hayes.

Bigbazza...
Spot on ..Mate .. I have been trying to remember all day ! :-))... I
suppose he would well and truly be 'pushing' up daisies (as they say )
now !... I liked him !

MCC...
He died in 1969 after appearing in almost 200 films

We didn't have TV here in Oz until September 1956...So I listened on the
radio to the 'coronation'..then went to the cinema to see the whole thing in
glorious colour !.. Our first TV was a 17" B&W... HMV... Had a beautiful
'Burr Walnut' cabinet that was a beautiful piece of furniture in itself..It
had closing doors on it !...Cost us just on 1000 Pounds then !!...A mighty

John:
Ps: That one armed Admiral Nelson had the best view. I wonder
how he's doing these days?

Bigbazza...
Well...The Queen has now past her 54th year last month and still her plenty
of years left..Especially if she has those long life genes in her inherited
from her Mother !...

Also...Queen Victoria didn't reign for 67 years ..Don..She came to the
throne as an 18 year old in 1837 and she died in 1901...So she reigned for
64 years...Mate ! :-))
