West Stand Bowler...
Spent the whole week-end trying to sort my display problems :((
Used various XP restore points, system recovery disks and finally a complete
format and reinstall of Windows XP.
Now back to square one.

Jeff Gaines...
At the risk of having missed something what's the issue? If you
restored from a restore CD/partition then the drivers should be
installed automatically (although more up to date ones may be
available).
Do you get any picture at all? Are you running the screen at its native
resolution?

West Stand Bowler...
Thanks for the reply Jeff.
Please see my response to pmj.

Any techie advice much appreciated, before this laptop sails through the
dining room window.

Device driver ? ATI Mobility Radeon 9000
Bios out dated ?
Monitor problem ?

Been in safe mode - no help.
Directx problem ?

pmj...
Like Jeff gaines, I also don't recall having seen what the original
Prob(s) that you had actually were?

Can you give us a brief rundown of the probs you are having?
One of the first things to do, would be to pinpoint whether it's
a prob with the *Hardware* (actual Screen Display &/or Graphics Card),
by Plugging in an External Monitor into it.

Does it have Socket for an External Monitor?

Took 8 hours to reinstall all the windows service packs / hotfixes and
critical updates.
Roll on Monday, back to w**k for a rest

You may find it useful to Create & Burn your own WinXP Install
CD? - & "Slipstream" the various service Packs & HotFix Files into it?
That will Save you (literally!) *Hours*, whenever you do a Full
Install.
