Pam the goose...
... that's what's happened to me, I've been abandoned :(

Call come out for the S&R lot to aid Manchester looking for someone. They
have to be there by 7pm - good job the light is good- so in the past hour
Ray's tended to calling everybody out, got the caravan packed and ready to
go (theirs, not ours!), made tea and we've eaten it and he's just left to
pick up the team leader and go off to the rendezvous. I wasn't amazed to
find the rendezvous is at a pub!

Jackie...
You will not be alone Pam I am sure there will be someone in here, not to
worry about Ray
he will be fine with the rest of the Team, has Meg gone with him??

Pam the goose...
Yes, you're right, Val:) Always someone around in here:)

No, it isn't a dog call out, just the humans:)

For ages now I have started to make tracks for bed at 9 pm but looking how
light it is tonight I don't think I can shove myself in that direction:)

Jackie...
I don't know where everyone is this evening Pam, they must be watching TV I
reckon.
You have Meg with you so you will be o.k. can you ring your daughter if you
are worried about anything?

Pam the goose...
Oh, yes, Cathy's at the end of the phone so I just make sure I don't do
anything silly then I don't have to bother her! Specially as it's her little
(? no, just seems like!) girl's 18th birthday today so things will be going
on there! We're all having a party on Saturday for her and Cathy's b'day. I
think Jack's included cos his was last week, too. May's a good but expensive
month for Coats'n'Ats:))

So, I've eaten my pain-killer and I'm off to bed. In the past few minutes
the night has started to draw in here. Still be quite light for you and the
rest of the suvveners I guess:)

jackie...
Sorry I could not keep you company last night Pam but a neighbour called in.
How did the S & R go, was Ray very late in?

Ray.Milne...
Morning Jackie,

After a pleasant walk across the fields and into the woods, with an
assortment of "mozzies" following shouting "food food" we were released at
about 10.15pm.

Hooked up Team caravan and back to Marks to offload the additional lights
etc we took, then back home at about 11.45pm. Had to park caravan, get
radios out to be charged up for next time.

This morning will get drink stuff, tea, coffee and chocolate as well as
biscuits ands crisps out, hook it back to the mains and get ready for this
evenings climbing lesson.

First time we've been called direct by Greater Manchester Police and they
were impressed that within an hour we had 12 people available to assist. The
eventual number turned out to be 16, so they could release the Tactical Aid
bobbies they had on stand by.

Mind you they may not have been impressed if Cheshire Police had wanted us
as Cheshire takes priority over everyone else as they are our "governing
Police Force".

At least the MisPer was found, that is the main thing.

Jackie...
That was great impressing the Police. Glad you found the missing person and
they he/she was o.k.
Its a wonderful job you all do.

Pam the goose...

May...
-------------------

May...
sleep, and dream about nice weekend party...
Marg (May) yes May is expensive, but worth it...
It shows you how we can only tell part of the story.
After all, if it was your father they were looking for you wouldn't want the
gory details published here, would you?

I can tell you this unhappy bit because the story was on NW Teletext today
and we read it.

The MisPer was a vicar and had been missing for two days. The Search Teams
found his body in the river:(

=?iso-8859-1?Q?=A7ire=DFird?= & $ir Vivor...
I wondered if it was him. I read a report which mention an S+R team.

Not a pleasant experience for anyone.

Rabbit...
Sorry about that.

But at least his wife is (sort of!) happy that he's been found.

Rabbit...
Yes it definitely was better for his wife and family they needed it.

And the men needed quite a bit of "looking after" when they had finished,
not a nice thing to happen for them, they want their MisPer safe and well
when they find him/her.

Jackie...
Oh Pam, what a shame, good news for the wife that they found him but not for
members of the team!

Rabbit...
I can imagine it wasn't very nice for the team but if it was the first time,
unfortunately I don't expect it to be the last time.

Pam the goose...
Yes, it was the first time so it would hit them harder than any further
ones.
They hadn't always found the MisPer they'd been sent out to look for but
those they found were not too bad healthwise.

Rabbit...
Good to hear that and that you impressed Greater Manchester Police, not of
course that I expected you could be anything other than impressive :-)

Ray.Milne...
Smoothie.

So I'm on my own till after it gets dark. Well, it's only a bit different to
him sitting glued to the TV or upstairs sitting glued to his puter:))

I just hope they find whoever it is and they're in good health. That's a
real bonus if they're in good health because so many times they've been
injured and that is really sad.

So, hope all goes well for them and the missing person.
