Thanks for all the content that has been posted recently.
However, some of the content is unplayable, as Firefox keeps telling me I
need the plug-in 'Apple Quick Time'. I do have it installed, but decided
to re-install just in case, but still get errors even though I hace checked
and unchecked 'Warn me when web sites try to install extensions or themes'
under 'options'.
I have viewed the same page in IE and it says the same. I installed
another plug-in; This time 'Real'.
All this happens with Mike Clouston's site at:-
I just get a plain greetings card with both browsers. Am I missing
something?

That's what I get, tho I wouldn't say it was plain :-)

I am using Windows XP Pro with Service Pack 2.
The sound file will not play in Windows Media Player, but does with
Quicktime.
Thanks for the feedback.

So, are you saying that even if you Open the windoze Media Player
Application up & then Navigate to the MIDI File to Open the File
directly in WMP, it doesn't Play?
Which windoze Media Player (Version) are you using?
Look in Menu>Help>About to check the Version of it.
Also, try the other windoze Media Players that actually come with
WinXP (the normal one that is available from the Start Menu isn't
the only one that is actually Installed with WinXP).
Start>Run wmplayer [OK]
That's the normal one - V8, V9 or V10, depending on what you
have Installed
Start>Run mplayer2 [OK]
That's Version 6.4.xx.xxxx
Start>Run mplay32 [OK]
& that's the basic one
All of those *should* be able to Play MIDI Files OK.
Try them all & see if they can Play the various MIDI Files that
you are having trouble with.
Check the File Associations in them all & see what's Set.
Also, if it's only MIDI Files that you are having probs with,
then have a good look through the various Options in the actual
Sounds & Audio Devices Control Panel Applet - Look on the Audio
Tab & see what's Set as the "Default Device" in the MIDI Music
Playback Section on that Tab - What different Devices do you have
available in the DropDown List?
What's available in there will depend on what Sound Card you have
& what Drivers are Installed for it.
& you'll find that other Media Players (such as Apple QuickTime)
also have their own Settings for what MIDI Device to use -
sometimes those Settings can stop MIDI Files being Played by
other Media Players.
