Son send his laptop back to supplier to be repaired, they couldn't find a
fault, so sent it back to the manufacturer. The saga has gone on for nearly
5 weeks, he asked to have the pc replaced, but was told that wasn't
possible. Eventually at the beginning of last week, he was told it was back
with the supplier and they would check it over and return it. Come
Wednesday, was told there was a problem with the pick up, but would
definitely get it on Friday. Phoned again on Thursday, was given choice of
delivery time for Friday, this was arranged..................you have
guessed it, no delivery !! Phoned again only to be told the laptop was lost
:-(((
Now they are going to replace it, but it will take 5 days to build, any

Well, yes, since it was lost while it was in their hands, then it's
*their* responsibility to replace it...
So at least you'll be gettin ganother one.
:-)

guess it will not arrive this week :-(

But look on the bright side...
If it was 18 Months old & they're going to be *building* one, rather
than just giving him a "Factory Refurbished" one, then he'll prolly
end up with one that is better than the one that he had to begin with!
:-)

In the meantime it has cost £50 pounds in courier charges, and about £15 in
telephone calls.
These I think should be refunded, but I reckon he will have to fight for

Yep - it's fairly normal to have to pay the Courier Charges to
Return a PC (either Lapotop or Desktop) back for Service (that's
if the Warranty doesn't offer anything extra), but they should pay
the Courier Charges to Send it back to you.
Some firms *might* be prepared to Re-imburse the cost of Dsending
it back & other expenses such as Phone Calls, but not many will.
|
that. The laptop is or was, only about 18 months old

|
But if it's more than a Year, then that's considered fairly old!

Hang on a mo!!!...
One unfortunate case of them losing a PC while it's in for Service
doesn't mean that the firm is always going to give bad service!!!
Yes, it would be interesting to hear what Firms are involved - both
the Retailer/Supplier of it & the Manufacturer, but let's make up our
own minds & also, let's see how they resolve the problem in the end.
