Don't always get it on boot up ( or at least I didn't at my old line) 'cos
sometimes AVG tried to connect before I had a proper Internet connection for

Seemed to be averaging out about 5000 *but* I didn't have the router fully
trained for the ten days before I went Sarf so I'm not sure if the gap will
make any diference to my BRAS profile.

Is that your router synchronizing speed (data rate) or measured download
speed?

Measured speed, router says it's synching at 8096 (Kbps.)

My current synch rate is 6720 kbps but throughout the evening the electronic
management system will drop it in several stages to around 6000 kbps. The
around 4200 kbps down 340 kbps up. That is partially due to my stable rate
having been decreased from 5500 to 5000 kbps in the last few days. Before
that I'd been enjoying speeds of around 4900 down 360 up.

I just presumed it was something to do with my security settings and never
bothered too much, just tried another one. There are plenty ;-)
Download speed: 4938.24
Upload speed: 374.05
Surfspeed inside United Kingdom: 49.75
Surfspeed average (worldwide): 59.50
Surfspeed outside United Kingdom: 62.12
Latency: 203 milliseconds

That's about the same as I was getting up to about a week ago. It's dropped
at the moment to more like 4200 k down 368 up. I use the options and don't
bother with the surfspeeds.

Download 1075 with 0 upload using London. Second try 708 download 0 upload.
So that one didn't jbex up either and TBH I don't reckon either can be right
just using my eye to judge the speed.

They're definitely not right. I've just tried the London server and got
3538 down 366 up. That download speed is definitely reading some 15 - 20%
low for me I reckon, but then Iat this time of the evening I think
contention comes into the equation here.. Funny why it won't give you an
upload reading though.
