Every time I open Word, the dictionary always defaults to the "English
US" Dictionary no matter how many times I set it to "English UK". :-(
Has anyone any ideas please how I can set the Word dictionary to
"English UK" and for it to stay there?

Do you have an English UK dictionary loaded? It comes with US as default.

Many thanks, Anita. Bookmarked that:)
I've just repaired Office and told it I want it to spell-check and now I
have what it calls an English UK dictionary.
I'll test it before long and see if it really *is* UK, and if it stays
there.

Yes, of course. :-)

Just thought I'd ask cos I never use the dictionary with it being US.

It should come with a choice of dictionaries and paper sizes, in mine
(Word 97) the very last question at the end of the install asks about
paper sizes and dictionary.
I worked at a company where the person doing the installation didn't know
the difference and set the whole company up with a US English spell
checker, I had to kick IT for six months to get it changed!
