Hmm well I emailed the company concerned 3 weeks ago, as of yesterday I
hadn't heard a dicky bird!

Glad to hear it's all sorted but what a way to have to go!

So glad you got it all sorted Boo and you should not have had to contact
them about it all, very bad service.

So I made a phone call, to the leccy board people ( who are ultimately
responsible for their contractors/ sub contractors actions) Expressed my
extreme displeasure at being ignored and repeated the amount I was
claiming. Asked for the registered address of the leccy board so I could
send copies of the mail to both them and the contractor by registered post
giving them 7 days to resolve my compliant.
Within the space of an hour I had 3 calls from various levels of
contractor apologising and sidestepping like good uns LOL. Lots of talk
about launching internal inquiries to review procedures etc...to which I
replied that I wasn't in the least interested, they should sort their own
problems which was I was trying to do.One of them was a nice Geordie lad

who eventually rang back to say the cheque was being raised and a letter
drafted. Then I got a call from a man who said he had just signed the chq
for the full amount.

Nope, but he made me giggle yesterday, then he stuck his tongue out at me!

Other thing was they had left an ugly bracket on the front of my house
when they removed the overhead lines. That was removed within two hours of
my call.
Now, why couldn't they do all that without me having to get cross? Still,
all's well that ends well :-)

Now you must hope that they have sent the cheque to the correct address. We
had a fridge/freezer problem once. Comet supplied us with a noisy one that
vibrated the nights away. They delivered a replacement that was damaged and
still had the paperwork inside from the person who had returned it. We
eventually had another SEVEN damaged replacements before I said enough, we
will have a chest freezer instead...... it arrived damaged. When they sent
us a cheque to placate us they sent it to the wrong address.

Eggsactly. I've just minutes ago finished getting cross with Royal Mail. A
valuable document was sent ( as advised by the PO) recorded delivery on
Saturday. The online tracker has no trace, a phone call showed no trace (
well I didn't expect it would). I get told I used the wrong way to send it,
I get told it's not considered lost till after 15 days, I get told they can
do nothing about it. I eventually ( via India) discover that the document
did arrive. Back to Royal Mail who tell me that recorded delivery means not
a lot ( no they didn't exactly say that but good as) 'cos it's dependent on
it being scanned into their system when delivered. So all's well that ends
well here too but why should I have to spend the best part of an hour trying
to find the information I paid for, i.e that it was delivered.
BTW glad you've got your problem sorted too.
