Have you seen this advert?

It's a BBC trailer and shows a woman with red hair grunting her way through
some tune or other. It's an advert for the Electric Proms, which I won't be
watching.

I have to reach for the remote to go into mute mode. Yuk - it's awful.

I saw it, but since I have all adverts muted I have no idea what an
"electric prom" could be.
I liked it when BBC didn't have adverts.

BBC tv has always had adverts - used to be one for a potter's wheel.

It might as well be commercial and free.

I have an 'automatic finger' which can hit the mute button 'instantly'.
I hear all sorts of new adverts when my kids and grandkids visit. They
get really wound up when we switch the sound off!
I say 'we' as my wife and I both have remotes. Our remote died so we
bought a universal one. It wasn't very good so we got the correct
replacement off the net. We are so good at this that sometimes the sound
goes off and back on as we both hit the button.

Very sad Jim. I watch a bit of tennis on tv and hit the mute button as soon
as each second game ends. Too many pundits and too many adverts

i try the same but of course if it could be done automatically then
great LOL o yes and stop playing sounds (i hesitate to say music) when
someone is commentating as well as the naturel sound s being made ;-)
now if i could turn off that sound channel i would really be in
business ;-)

I use the fast finger approach Len - does make me into a Noreen?!

yep that what i do but also as i have Sky plus i record it then after
15 minutes start to look at it and fast forward through all the adverts
LOL

Yep I do that too Len. Also my HDD recorder has "chapters" set at 2 minutes
and most ad breakes these days are about 4 minutes - two presses of the
next chapter button and they're gone LOL.
