My plumber has been and gorn. He's replaced the ballcock in the water tank
cos it was covered in limescale - it look pretty gungy too, and it had
stopped working at some time this morning without me realising.

MCC...
Now that could have been problematic.

I did mention header tank supply in my reply to your original post. I had
forgotten all about limescale problems - that's something that doesn't
happen down here

Michaelangelo...
Hah! Thought that would be the main suspect.

One hour - £45 - so no complaints.

MCC...
Ouch! But cheap by today's standards for a plumber, I suppose.
Did that include the price of the ballcock? Not that they are terribly
expensive.

Splodge...
No, that was included in the price.
I have a long list of trades chappies who helped with the refurbishment of
Splodge Towers, so I'm never short of the odd bloke or two - for want of a
better expression lol

Michaelangelo...
Excellent!

Saxman...
Parts are £3.69 from Screwfix. I did mine myself, as it's quite easy.

Splodge...
Wrong, Saxman. It's only easy if the tank is easily accessible and mine is
definitely not. I had to remove all the items from the airing cupboard first
and he had to manouevre his body between the shelves, while standing on a
stepladder. Otherwise it would have been cheaper lol

Saxman...
My friend who has a computer business charges £40 an hour, so I think
it's a bit on the expensive side.

Splodge...
He was here for over an hour, so I'm happy with the service he gave me (!)

I trust the new ball cock is OK as well then. LOL

Michaelangelo...
Your very welcome - £245 inc VAT + £90 UPS call charge. )

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°7 +...

expenses. :)

Splodge...
