Glad to hear you're back & you got your Medion PC sorted out OK.

Now with the Medion back in action, have started to fiddle with the
Panrix WinMe machine.

Have been working with a fresh ME installation on a new Hard Disk and
have put the old disk in as a slave, Ok so far, and can get at the
disk contents but some of the programs on the Original WinME will not
run, - under the New WinME - registry problems I suppose.

Yep, very often Programs need to be actuall y*Instaleld* into the
Operating System taht you're Running them in/from.

Some stuff works OK, without Installation, but other stuff can have
probs.

I installed BootMagic on the new drive, but cannot get it to pick up
the WinMe on the slave.

Reinstalled bootmagic and reinstalled - no effect
Uninstalled bootmagic and will not know reinstall - says the original

Yep, that's a typical prob with things like that, the UnInstall
Routine doesn't *completely* UnInstall everything, so that can cause
probs when you want to try doing another Install of it...

Sometimes it's down to the various "Copy Protection" things that
they use, to try & Stop people Installing & Running the same thing
on several different PCs.

There are various ways round probs like that, but exactly what you
have to do will depend on the particular Program (& version of it).

It might be an idea to look up on the Manufacturer's Web
Site/KnowledgeBase? - They may have some ARticles which might Help.
& they may have an "UnInstall/CleanUp" Utility to gert shot of it.

I dunno, sorry.
I haven't had much all that much experience of PowerQuest BootMagic.
& when I did try it, I found that it didn't really do what I wanted,
so I took the opportunity to Wipe the whole Disk & start again,
without it.

Previously I had Linux also installed and its MBR picked up old
windows installations on a second hard drive (not the same one that's

Rather than PowerQuest BootMagic?
