pmj...
I'm not sure what was s'posed to "work" on it?
The Link to that Page worked OK - The Server exists & Serves up the
Web Page OK

The (270 KB) Animated .GIF Image (Picture), with the "Sparkly" bits
on the Writing, showed up OK (in the top left hand corner of the Page
in the Browser Window)

But the Link on it didn't work.

Ali...

It says this in the HTML Code of it...

width="726" height="514" border="0">

There's nothing after the "javascript:" bit in there, so that's why
nothing happens when we Click the Link

Maybe if it said (in the Quotes) something like...

javascript:alert('Happy%20Xmas\n%20:-)');

It would work OK?

(Try Copying & Pasting that into the AddressBar, to see what it does).

Grannie Annie...
Didn't know I'd put a link. It was just a photo with an animated

Ali...
The picture was a link (to a blank javascript script)

pmj...
Ah!
Well, when you Hover the Mouse over the Picture, the Cursor changes
from the normal "Arrow" to the "Hand" Pointer, which is the normal
Indication that the thing that you're Hovering over is a Link.

The Link is Created by the "" Tags in the HTML
Anything between those tags (in your case it was the
Tag) will be what is the "live" area of the Link
& the href="..." Attribute of the Tag (in your case that was
"javascript:") tells the Browser what to do (what Server & File to
fetch, or what Action to take, depending on the Protocol part of the
URL) when the Link is Clicked.

I dunno how that Link got there then, if you didn't put it there!
& neither do I know how yo uput it there, without knowingh that you had!

What did you use to make the Page then?

"merry chri*stmas" on it, did it animate? It did for me.

Ali...
It did for me too.

pmj...
Yep - I saw the "Sparkly" bits on the writing. (like I said in the
first bit up there ^^^)
(provided I have the "Freeze GIF Animations" thingy in the Web
Filter/AdBlocker Utility that I use UnTicked)

& also provided that the "[/] Play Animations in Web Pages" Option
in the Internet Explorer Options is Ticked.

Grannie Annie...
You've blinded me with science :o)
I'm just a beginner and haven't used scripts or javascripts yet....
only by accident it seems.

I used Dreamweaver.... doesn't mean I understand it though lol

Thanks for trying to educate me pmj... it's a losing battle :-(

jamps...
That's lovely Grannie - thank you!
Happy Christmas to you and your family.
