How can I watch TV on my PC without the need to change a "Motherboard" ?

You don't change the motherboard, you add a PCI card (search for
Hauppauge), or as kat said, you can plug something in a USB socket.
|
Is there a programme that I can download ?
Ali...
|
No, you need a hardware TV tuner. Software comes with it.
|
Has anyone on the group done this ?
Ali...
|
Yes, I've been watching TV on the computer since I got it.
|
Is there something anyone can reccomend ?

Radeon All in Wonder Graphics cards, probably the best on the market...
ATI pretty much sewed up the market with these cards.
Basically they can turn your PC into a TIVO system ;)

works a treat.

My card (a Hauppauge) is somewhat out of date now.
(Actually there are programmes you can download,
don't think that's what you meant)

Have a look for a product called WinTV. I have an oldish version. It's got
a USB lead to a small box, which then needs a lead plugged into a tv socket.
I think you can get digital ones now.

Pop into pc world and youl see a number of products.
The latest thing is simply a usb stick that plugs into a uusb socket. Not
too expensive iether.
If you cant get to a pc world do a web search for USB TV
