I once left my passport and ticket in the airport when connecting with a
flight back to britain. I was only 10 years old, and I flew halfway accross
the world unaccompanied. Was a big prob at passport control at heathrow
though.. eventually they just let me in. So I returned from India on my own,
and got back to britain without my passport. (it was later sent to me by the
british embassy in Paris where it was found)
